Another option is to start extrapolating Vinnk's Village and gather some other anecdotal data and produce our own numbers!
How much will we sell our reports for?Another option is to start extrapolating Vinnk's Village and gather some other anecdotal data and produce our own numbers!
When "novelty" is best you can say about either the quality or the sales of the game.
Next week should be better right ?GEO is disappointed with new releases, most of them charted at low places and those who started higher did low numbers.
There are bigger releases next week.
Yes, but I meant relatively. Are they tracking above/below expectations ? (I think you only mentionned Sekiro as a positive but what about the others ?)
Definitely will be curious to see how the split for SRW goes. The last two 3DS SRW games had higher initial weeks than the last two PS4 SRW games, so it seems to be a title that could easily end up selling more on Switch.
I mean, the last Ace Combat game was like 8 years prior. 4 years is nothing. SRW has a deep history on Nintendo consoles and should have a sizable amount of people excited to play the newest iteration on the Switch.
And PS2 and PS3 doesn't equal PS4, yet you see people making those comparisons all the time (the most recent in large volume was concerning Kingdom Hearts sales). Also I made an edit that you might not have seen, so my I ask why you think SRW has "always been a playstation franchise" when it was on SNES and the original Gameboy and has had over 15 different releases on a wide range of Nintendo hardware? That's not really responsive to my specific point. "Nintendo 3DS" doesn't equal "Nintendo Switch".

Good to know :)Things look the expected, there shouldn't be unpleasant surprises for publishers or retailers.
From what I can tell from gameplay videos on Youtube, the Switch and PS4 versions are the same, so there isn't any sort of graphics gap between the two. So the big advantage of portability should easily tilt the scales in favor of the Switch. If there wasn't parity in graphics between the two I'd say the ps4 should be favored, but considering the long and rich history of SRW on Nintendo consoles and how much Japan loves to play games on the go (and a SRPG like SRW is perfect for that) I'd say the Switch version should easily outsell the PS4 version which is the same except you can only play it at home.
To respond directly to your point:Again, non responsive. PS4 has received the last 3 entries in the series. This is the first Switch game. Its unreasonable to expect parity day 1 because a game hit another Nintendo platform 4 years ago.
To respond directly to your point:
The highest selling SRW game, both in total and in terms of initial week sales for 3DS, DS, and GBA is the first SRW game that released on each system.
For 3DS:
Super Robot Wars BX 98.184 130.067 Bandai Namco 20/08/2015
Super Robot Wars UX 120.751 177.810 Bandai Namco14/03/2013
For DS:
Super Robot Wars L 123.933 181.459 Bandai Namco 25/11/2010
Super Robot Wars OG Saga: Masou Kishin - The Lord of Elemental 86.105 104.757 Bandai Namco 27/05/2010
Super Robot Wars OG Saga: Endless Frontier Exceed 78.773 100.089 Bandai Namco 25/02/2010
Super Robot Wars K 131.638 213.454 Bandai Namco 20/03/2009
Super Robot Wars OG Saga: Endless Frontier 90.248 120.556 Banpresto 29/05/2008
Super Robot Wars W 172.190 278.027 Banpresto 01/03/2007
For GBA, it's the same, Super Robot A was the first released and had higher first week sales and total sales than any other SRW game on GBA.
Do you not understand why the first game to a system is the highest selling one? It should be particularly obvious.
Of the last 20 games in the series, a grand total of 2 have been on Nintendo platforms. Its very transparent what you are doing.
Will the Switch version of T sell less than the Vita version of X?

Yikes if so.

Koei Tecmo has been working as a studio for hire lately. What are the paths forward for Namco and KT.
They've had some fucking weird releases recently, some of which have done not great.
DQB2 launched pretty buggy, IIRC. Marvel Ultimate Alliance doesn't look great either.
Musou's decline is exactly the reason why we're so afraid for KT's future. More Musou won't help unless they let the series take a big break, then reinvent it (on a gameplay level), and then do a crossover with the biggest brand available. There's always room for more Musou if KT needs cash too. FF Musou, Precure Musou, Sonic Musou, etc.

Yes. Running a new IP through the formula still does well. Looking forward to Xenomusou some day.Considering Fire Emblem Musou is a million seller I don't the Musou formula is necessarily a problem. I think the Warring States and Three Kingdoms subject matter has worn out, it can only be rehashed so many times.

I see FE Warriors at a little over 100k combined on Game Data Library. Nope but it did sell 1m WW. KT confirmed it a few months after launch.I see FE Warriors at a little over 100k combined on Game Data Library. Was there another release for it other than the 3DS and Switch?
WW numbers are useless in this thread though. it's about Japan sales. Otherwise all the gloom and doom about PS4 software could easily be rebutted with the amazing global software sales, so it makes sense to keep discussion Japan-focused. FE Warriors did around 100k with 3DS and Switch combined releases. That's less than DW9 or Orochi 4 which use the more traditional settings for the series.Nope but it did sell 1m WW. It's over 100K. I also don't think these numbers were ever updated in GameDataLibrary -- it's like 2 year old data, it's likely they did ship more than that.WW numbers are useless in this thread though. it's about Japan sales. Going by the KT curse, Ni-Oh 2 should debut at half the FW numbers of the original.
