The sell-through data is released on Friday, and always covers release day to Thursday. Since most games are released on Thursday, it's usually just Day 1 sell-through, though. But if a game was ever released on Monday, that would be 4-day sell-through, but I don't think there's ever been a Monday release (at least not recently).

Considering they most likely have low expectations (well, retailers most certainly do), I guess short pre-order window doesn't really matter too much.

Different moral standards. Pretty much all East Asian countries have extremely tough view on narcotics. I believe in some like Malaysia it can get you hanged.

Possession of child pornography only relatively recently (last 10 or 15 years I think) became punishable by law in Japan.

I guess the alternative is have people not post unless they can translate it. But then you will miss out on game announcements as many of the people who are following these Japanese twitter feeds can't translate, and many who can translate are not following these twitter feeds.
