JN: (haha) I knew this question was coming. Yes, J'Nique is my real first name. My mother apparently had no knowledge of what it meant in French and she liked it, so she chose it as my name. I honestly didn't find out what it meant until moving to Japan and meeting a French guy who told me. I definitely feel a little uncomfortable around French people now because of it, but it is what it is. It's my name and I'm not gonna change it so that's that. (haha)

Yes, that's because download cards sales were very high when the cartridge version was out of stock and only Famitsu counts them.

Oh yeah totally forgot about that, that means NH has a clear disadvantage but because of how high it's selling it's actually much better off due to its digital sales going to be monstrous while outselling NL retail vs NL Retail/DL cards

I'd imagine it's more the latter, comparison between the Pokemon Lite and the AC regular Switch that I bought recently is testament to this, the box for the Pokemon Lite is much smaller and obviously has much less in it than the latter. Obviously I have no clue how much of a difference it makes but it looks like they are far easier to produce in bulk.

Not sure if the profit is that much higher but Lite should be much easier to produce and transport (as you can fit a larger volume in the same space). Which should mean that it is easier for them to deliver.

Famitsu tracks download cards as physical sales, Media Create doesn't. New Leaf never had enough stock in 2012, which led to higher download cards sales than usual (but then even DL cards ran out).

Download cards are tangible video games bought in a retail store. Thus by this criteria, Famitsu counts them in physical.

Probably has close to 2 million on Switch and a million on PS4. Then you got PC and mobile.

There is focus on PlayStation decline and Xbox is ignored. There is literally zero interest from consumers and every small and mid tier Japanese developer has abandoned it. If Phil didn't do its usual trips year after year things would be even worse.

It's nothing compared to what these titles do on Nintendo systems, but the PS4 version was the first with a worldwide release. And thanks to ongoing DLC support and discounts, I expect digital sales to be relatively high. In terms of Japan only, it did not do that well.

The PS4 version got its worldwide release on the same day the Switch version did and considering they only released the Switch drum IIRC it likely wasn't as big as the Switch version.

I don't know... Maybe the Lite is being assembled in Vietnam and the original Switch in China?
