This is a huge thumbs up for the switch 👍🏽

I am very happy to see the console selling so well and I'm also happy to see third parties thriving and doing extremely well this generation on a Nintendo product.

Congratulations Nintendo and 3rd party developers.

Capcom selling only 15k physical copies outside Monster Hunter in March shows again how much continued deep discounts at digital stores affect sales of games at retail after first weeks.

Story of Seasons getting 5th on the monthly charts is kinda surprising, given that basically everyone here was proclaiming the game legless after launch.

I have to check it out by calendar year but NSW for this FY is at 5440k and with Jan-Feb it'll add another 1000k for sure.

3ds best fywas 5690k and 2nd highest was 6360k

Yeah, requesting a permanent ban was an overhasty decision for which I began having regrets after a few months, at least I should have made it temporary but thankfully the staff was kind enough to lift it as soon as I asked it be. Anyway, thanks everyone, that was nice!

When people dont post here or request a ban I just assume they have stuff going on in their lives and need to focus on that. You certainly were not forgotten. Welcome back :)

The effect of Switch Pro on sales will probably be that the second-hand market will be flooded with OG Switch since most of the people who will be interested, especially if it is more expensive, will be people who already have a Switch.

This is not necessarily a bad thing, since those low-priced OG Switches are reaching people who will also buy software.
Hmm i doubt thats gonna be the case. Flooded OG Switches that are gonna be much cheaper than the retail price ? The Switch will keep its worth just based on what the Switch Lite is being sold for. Its more likely that people are gonna keep the old Switches in the household and benefit from owning multiple Switches....you might be right but i cant see being second hand market being flooded with cheap OG Switches after the last 4 years and the fact that its still gonna be a great purchase for the broader market.

Thats ignoring the fact that its probably gonna be very difficult to get a Switch Pro and possible shortages until who knows when in 2022.

If that happens and people accumulate OG Switch at home, Nintendo wouldn't make a big profit out of Switch Pro.

It would have the profit margin that the Switch Pro has, which will not be much, and that's it.

Now here's a question; does buying the offline DLC in Tetris 99 allow you to own the game and play that content without NSO or is it still required?

What is the upper limit on Ring Fit? It looks like it'll be one of the 3-4 titles that will be breaching 10 million soon (if it already hasn't).

It was at 8.68M as of December 2020, you can already add ~350k from Japan since and with Japan being >25% of WW sales it's indeed possible and even likely it already surpassed 10M.

As for the ceiling, hard to say, Chris mentioned that supply might have finally caught up demand in Japan, if the same thing happens worldwide it could begin to slow down a bit but it will still have millions in the tank.

What are sales expectations for Pokémon Snap?

Can it become one of the best-selling Pokémon spin-offs? Best-selling ones are Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time / Explorers of Darkness on NDS at around 1.6m, Card Game on GB at around 1m, then everything else is below 800k units.

Will it sell greatly the first week thanks to nostalgia and then disappear from charts? The original entry was the 19th best-selling game on N64, closing at around 500k units. It was definitely a defining game back then and one of the most appreciated spin-offs to date.

I expect New Pokemon Snap sells a bit more than Pokemon Snap but nothing too over the top.

Yeah there was a sizable shipment mentioned before and numbers didn't spike up like they would normally have. Game will be over 3mil lifetime and 4mil depends on legs/sequel imo

Pokémon Legends: Arceus and Monster Hunter: Rise definitely are spin-offs.

Pokémon Legends is more akin to Pokémon mainline than FF now is compared to FF then (now we all argue what's a spin-off lol)

MHR I'm not sure of cuz of the whole "not numbered" thing but maybe it's more like SMT and Persona is???

As long as a game still is in the same genre it's mainline. Both Rise and Legends just have a different title and new features, that'd be like saying BOTW was a Zelda spin off.

I don't get the "spin off" thing when it comes to mh, a series with no story and no narrative coherence between games.
That makes no sense (apart downplaying a entry for reasons)

[PS4] Monster Hunter: World # <ACT> (Capcom) {2018.01.26} (¥8.980) - 3.184.000
[WIN] Monster Hunter: World # <ACT> (Capcom) {2018.08.09} (¥8.980) - 236.000

[PS4] Monster Hunter: World - Iceborne # <ACT> (Capcom) {2019.09.06} (¥4.444) - 1.767.000
[WIN] Monster Hunter: World - Iceborne # <ACT> (Capcom) {2020.01.09} (¥4.444) - 137.000

Yes, MHW's DLC sold more units on PS4 than Dragon Quest XI, Final Fantasy VII Remake or Final Fantasy XV did.

Welcome back.
