I was referring to the Labo brand and impressions of the concept.
I think the variety kit launched with 90k? Doing a third of that with a much better offer (even the vehicle kit which people would argue was the best till Labo) indicates that the brand wasn't particularly healthy.

I bought both the robot kit and VR. Despite regretting my purchase of robot kit (which led me to skip vehicle kit) I got VR day 1 and think it works brilliantly.

So it's not coming from a place of bad faith or concern trolling, just hope it can overcome that and keep selling for a long period of time

It just seems strange because the launch of Labo VR is significantly better than Labo Vehicle. Over 10k units higher in fact.

So making it seems like this underperformed feels weird to me considering it's a much better launch than the prior entry

Strong week for NSW, 54k is well above week 15 last year (32k). PS4 is nearly the same as last year (both 12k), but the split is different (Pro was 2k last year).

EDIT: Week 15, 2018 Last year had the release of Snack World (and some Kirby legs), which really shows how much higher the baseline is now (or Labo is a system seller ;-) ). Did the Switch have any deals last week?

Well at least without permanent price cut to the 25k yen but maybe that will only happen during the fall if the western sales hold up enough.
I don't see a price drop before fall but even if a permanent 5k drop happens in summer it won't have impact at sales for more than 3-4 weeks.

The next two months leasing to E3 will be really interesting indeed. I wonder if a Pro/Handheld version will be announced during the investor meeting, and if yes, how it will impact the Switch's baseline.

I expected way more from the Switch port of FF.

Looking at past releases sales of this remaster i guess this is a very realistic number. it will sell much better in the west though. FFVII did really well on NA's eShop.

but man, PS4 performance is really bad, i don't know how it will survive 2 years in Japan until its successor release.

PS5 is almost certainly releasing in November 2020. It's only a year and a half to go.

PS5 isn't coming out in two years with all this info releasing from Sony and soon Microsoft.
PS4 hardware reveal was February 2013, with a holiday 2013 launch and a February 2014 launch in Japan. They might have had an official interview with Cerny about PS5 hardware, but they haven't revealed the system yet, I'd suggest they are in line with a 2020 launch.

Media Create Sales: Week 14, 2019 (Apr 01 - Apr 07)

So if Switch and PS4 keep similar weekly numbers the Switch should catch/pass the PS4 in LTD sales by the end of April or 1st week of May.

With Smash 3.0 blowout just randomly dropping like it did last night, I think we should be seeing a Mario Maker 2 Direct within the next 8 days.
They needed to get the Smash update out the way first and they did. I think with that done they'll want Mario Maker 2 fully announced with release date before financial briefing if possible

Didn't know FFX on PSV had crazy legs. 22k opening, and 300k LTD.

https://sites.google.com/site/gamedatalibrary/game-search

I believe there are weird shenanigans surrounding FF X / FF X-2 listings on GameDataLibrary. This is where its LTD was at the end of 2015, according to Media Create's Yearly Top 1000

[PSV] Final Fantasy X HD Remaster <RPG> (Square Enix) {2013.12.26} (¥3.800) - 1.922 / 60.330 (-94%) (25.443 <90,57%>)

It's probably a result of dual pack sales being tracked as sales of X too.

My point is that I don't think the brand has been received well.
Nearly double the debut of the last one being just 26k is "good for Labo", but Labo wasn't doing well before.

Not sure if I'm getting my point across well

Kinda boring week. Sekiro still doing well, nice.

You expected it to outperform the PS4 version?

You do realise that this is the 6th release of FF10 & FF10-2 right? (Including the PS2 International Version release).
It's an old-ass port of a game already in HD and on a portable. It did as well as it could
"way more" lol
The games have been on PS2,PS3,PSV and PS4 already for cheaper and this is a full price release.

Guys, I wouldn't even bother with that poster because that's their whole concerntrolling shtick. As soon as a 3rd party Switch port of an old game underperforms (not saying this one did) you will see them posting like a clockwork.

Revisions aren't announced in investor meetings and is unlikely Pro Edition will be out so soon.

Labo is the #2 game in Japan and Nintendo has already said the series has been successful, selling over one million...but funny to see the "still might be a flop" or "Labo VR is bad" takes.

Yeah, you are right for the first part. However, what makes you say that a revision will 'not come so soon'? Just to be clear, I wonder what effect that announcement would have on the baseline, not the model itself. Sorry if I wasn't clear.

Except that technology isn't here yet for a more advanced affordable portable, Lite and Pro Switch coming out at once is a logistics nightmare.

Smash will cross 4m this year and maybe before holidays.

Splatoon 2 will have to wait for early 2020.

Labo seems like a bit of a toxic brand, probably hurting switch vr more than helping.
It's pretty good and cheap so hopefully word of mouth helps it grow virtual legs.

Switch sales went up quite a bit. Not sure if it's for Labo or Final Fantasy

Labo certainly didn't do Wii Fit or Brain Age numbers, but toxic? Based on that couldn't you argue that EDF or Yoshi are toxic? It may not be the runaway success some of us thought (including me!), but it could still be profitable for Nintendo.

Your words don't match your meaning.

LABO sets now not selling as well as they did with the first kit =\= Brand is now toxic. If you're saying this in the face of objectively positive performance compared to the previous kit, your point gets muddled.

Shocked to see switch number rise.0_0 VR help a bit guess.

While for yoshi Gw will push it even further.

Dragon Ball drop is bigger than i thought. Switch seems to still have that price barrier to allow it to hit mainstream kids price there sadly.

EDF number is underwhelming too.

May I ask what's your take on the so-called MIni rumoured revision? I can't see Nintendo going the 2DS way despite rumours pointing to that, I think a DS Lite style revision is more possible at this time. The 2DS did not even release in Japan, they basically released cause sales were poor elsewhere.
