Somewhere. I think.
Labo VR sold pretty much as expected. Not too bad, but remains to be seen if it'll have any legs or not (+ impact on games that end up getting support for it). Switch sales back up, heh. Not sure what caused that bump though, doubt it was Labo.

I can imagine some people are waiting for the VR updates on Zelda and Mario before picking it up. Interested to see if it has any legs in coming weeks.

I wasn't really expecting an upswing for Switch this week. I wonder if we're settling around ~=50k/week.

Labo seems like a bit of a toxic brand, probably hurting switch vr more than helping.
It's pretty good and cheap so hopefully word of mouth helps it grow virtual legs.

Switch sales went up quite a bit. Not sure if it's for Labo or Final Fantasy

People always overestimate the appeal VR has. Yoshi and Sekiro holding well, how is the Dragon Ball drop compared to the 3DS games? Looks a bit too big to me, but maybe it's normal. Also thought Switch would be under 50k this week.

Considering nothing VR sells much, I think that's more on the concept being a niche thing than the Labo brand.

Similar debut for FFX-X2 to the PS4 version (it did 18k at launch, ended up at 54k), really nice.
Wonder how Labo VR will do based on the positive reception.

2 weeks until Switch outsells PS4.

Labo VR looks to have pushed some systems and word of mouth is good.

Considering how dead the period is that's a pretty good week for switch hardware sales. Guess labo and FF may have done some work. Probably more likely the former than the latter.

Town adjacent to Silent Hill
Not a particularly interesting week. EDF did way less than 5 and 2025, but I think that was expected when I saw Sandlot wasn't developing. FFX/X2 didn't do too bad for the n-th rerelease of an old game, but nothing especially exciting either.

Two more weeks though, and Switch will have caught up with the PS4's LTD sales.

Golden Week will be the determing factor for Labo VR but so far signs are very positive.

What does everyone make of Sony cracking down on content that sexualizes minors? This will affect Japanese games the most. I have to say it's a fantastic move and the other console manufacturers should follow suit if they haven't already. These sort of games shouldn't be allowed.

EDF takes top spot pretty easily.

PS4 hardware not good. Weirdly though it's matched last years numbers and just like last week.

8 don't think we'll get a price cut any later then June but I'm hoping for the start of May just after Days Gone.

Robot Kit #2 actually released alongside Variety Kit #1 on Labo's launch, I don't think it would have sold the same if it had released later on like Vehicle Kit #3

VR did better than 3 and likely better in the long run than 2 as well. It's the opposite of "declining with every new entry".
I was referring to the Labo brand and impressions of the concept.
I think the variety kit launched with 90k? Doing a third of that with a much better offer (even the vehicle kit which people would argue was the best till Labo) indicates that the brand wasn't particularly healthy.

I bought both the robot kit and VR. Despite regretting my purchase of robot kit (which led me to skip vehicle kit) I got VR day 1 and think it works brilliantly.

So it's not coming from a place of bad faith or concern trolling, just hope it can overcome that and keep selling for a long period of time
