3DS is still popular among young people and still going strong worldwide (according to Nintendo themselves). Labo was clearly designed to attract younger audience on Switch.
It's not needed in Japan since 3DS is already going downhill, but since I suspected Labo to be the most popular in Japan compared to other countries, it might not sound good for worldwide sales and Nintendo attempt to sweep the rug under the 3DS feet. Just quick thought and feeling from me though, it's hard to really gauge worldwide interest for Labo, it's not your typical video-game, but I feel like if it didn't move mountain in Japan, it won't do it worldwide either.
but the first batch was 70-80% sell through,so I think it's the second batch of the game was overshipped
nope
Yup, about 1,500 units better than GoW3 (and that game had no digital sales I believe):

btw,any thought from metal max xeno? the result was really different from the 50k report from famitsu
Western games have been grown a lot this gen in Japan. It's just that Japanese have a different gaming preference overall (it's in the same way that Western gamers don't take to Japanese RPGs as much as Japanese gamers do). Nothing to do with having a thing against them I think: they just aren't as connected to them.

Judging by online retailers, stock issue is going to be resolved in this week finally.Did we get shortage reports last week and this week? I'm not sure we did
It could just be a difference in tastes.
Wasn't sure what to expect for Labo, but looks like it did pretty great. Now to see legs and holiday sales. Good second week for The Snack World, too.
Switch sales pretty meh, though GW is just around the corner.
I mean...yeah but we knew that.
Monday! (Actually it is Sunday, but we will celebrate Showa no Hi on Monday thanks to the Happy Monday System).

Golden Week. A Japanese holiday.
Starts next week, but unless I'm mistaken, the effect is only really felt the week after.
Nope, just against GoW. See Far Cry 5 as a example of good western sales in Japan.

That has always been the case.
So according to Famitsu, Neo Atlas 1469 sold more or less the same as PSV in 2016 (3.337 FW), but Portal Knights is way below PS4 version (10k at launch).

Just to put the idea of long term selling products on the map, here's a couple of examples of long term sellers that appeal to a different audience than the typical gamer:
NDS Brain Age: Train Your Brain in Minutes a Day! 44.166 / 3.847.136 Nintendo 19/05/2005
NDS Brain Age 2: More Training in Minutes a Day! 416.124 / 5.082.322 Nintendo 29/12/2005
WII Wii Sports 176.880 / 3.724.565 Nintendo 02/12/2006
WII Wii Sports Resort 353.827 / 3.165.464 Nintendo 25/06/2009
WII Wii Fit 254.009 / 3.561.787 Nintendo 01/12/2007
WII Wii Fit Plus 318.755 / 2.417.762 Nintendo 01/10/2009
This pattern probably also explains why 1-2-Switch is also at 5x its launch number and is still going at a steady 2k a week (which it has been doing since before the second half of last year). Well, that and the salt produced by triggered hardcore gamers.
Surprisingly low Switch sales. This is starting to get ridiculous at this point. Labo clearly flop fortunately. It did way below expectations. Hopefully Nintendo will abandon it and start focusing on core gamers 100%. They should have had Fire Emblem instead of Labo, Switch would have done better in general.
Even more ridiculous is GoW: ps4 owners in Japan are not buying their largest exclusive. Crazy.
Yup, about 1,500 units better than GoW3 (and that game had no digital sales I believe):
PS3 God of War III 44.583 94.794 SCE 25/03/2010
Could be (I'm not at all interested in it whether it was good or bad), but plenty of people seem to enjoy it (casual games don't have legs for the fun of it: they do need actual appeal to sell). People should accept that what the gaming audience has deemed bad may have appeal to a casual audience, yet plenty of people on this forum keep expressing their discontent with 1-2-Switch' continued sales. That's where the meme of the salt pushing the game forward comes from.Maybe 1-2-Switch being a bad and overpriced game triggers more salt that the game being casual.
i know, i'm not saying it's an unexpected or amazing result, it just looked funnyI mean, Labo was expected to the be the next big thing and God of War is a sequel to a game that sold 50k...
