Tropical Freeze came out in February 2014 and at the end of December its LTD was 1,12m. It must have sold a bit more since then but Switch version will match this number shortly after its launch.
It has 2 full months of sales in this quarter, It's possible it will be a million seller at next report.

It has a small rise for matching Switch pricing: ¥5.700 -> ¥5.980.

3DS will be entirelly dead this Golden Week. Software is already absent but in summer hardware will hit sub 5k numbers.

Since God Eater 3 is being developed by Marvelous, do we know what Shift is working on? I thought Code Vein looked eerily similar but that's done at Bamco afaik.

The Donkey Kong IP is strong, DKCTF for Switch will easily outsell the WiiU version in the next few months (talking about sell-in).
Worldwide I expect DKCTF for Switch to sell more than 2 million units, with the bulk of the sales coming form America like always.

2018 outselling 2016 at a store chain of 1200 stores (wasn't it?) is a pretty big deal. I have no idea what type of store GEO is tho. Is it more focused on core gamers or is their audience a good mix between core and more casual players? Because while sports games have general appeal, I think core gamers are more likely to get a game on Day 1. (It's the week before Golden Week)

Does anyone know?

You are in Europe, yeah, I hear things like games are a bit more expensive there, and you guys have a really big tax especially for games. Ours is an across the board 8% (until the government decides to finally hike it up to 10%).

The yen fluctuates a lot right now as well. If Trump says something too stupid I am sure we will break the 100yen to 1 dollar barrier again.

Btw, it looks like Rocket League retail is headed to Japan, too. Mpl90 is gonna love the release date.

According to sinobi looking at the current trends and after Star Allies performance, demand for Tropical Freeze will make it outperform the 120k sales the original without problem.

It's probably a matter of weeks (if not days) until there's an announcement, since it's been a while already since the big update has been sent to lotcheck. Since they seem to be holding the update to have it coincide with retail release, I'd say we're looking at a June/July release. I'm gonna laugh my *ss off if this ends up as another July 26th release :P

And yeah, it should still be pretty big deal, especially as more and more kids get the console.

And no, Minecraft on New 3DS wasn't released in Japan at retail (it's available on the Nintendo eShop and has been in the top-selling list since pretty much launch).

April is out and preorders for everything from Nintendo beyond June are still closed. Captain Toad at July 13 is the first game.

First Nintendo game of the quarter. Preorders for Nintendo games don't open without direct, you can preorder everything else from third parties (that is dated).

We'll probably get a direct for stuff that isn't E3-worthy/summer release dates sometime this month or early next month.

Anyway, couldn't they just open preorders for Captain Toad etc after the e3 Direct without mentioning Captain Toad during the Direct?

They always do a Direct or two between March and E3. Last year it was game specific, this year it might be more general, covering some of the smaller titles releasing shortly after E3.

Except Captain Toad the other unavailable dated title is WarioWare Gold at August 2. Octo expansion is also rumored for July 13.

What would they even cover in this Direct other than a Captain Toad port.and a Wario Ware collection.

Octo-expansion will be featured at e3 probably so I doubt they'll talk about it right before e3.

We have hours and hours of info on Octopath Traveler.

Crash is a port.

I guess they could do a "here is Diablo 3 etc ports coming to Switch" Direct before e3.

But not sure what else.

Pretty sure Sega barely started on Valkyria Chronicles ports and the developer of Dark Souls Switch has no idea when that game will be done and won't want to start promoting it until they actually finish it.

Taiko and Inazuma Eleven would make it a near Japan exclusive Direct which I don't think they're interested in doing.
