At first week they sold like 10-20% of the stock according to Famitsu. Maybe they were stocking it for the future, but still, this number doesn't seem good.
30%. Given how heavy and bulky Labo kits are, it's likely they shipped stock to cover the next few weeks (and Golden Week). Otherwise a near half million initial shipment would be way too optimistic.

Great hold for GoW and great numbers hardware for the PS4. Sadly, software-wise it seems that even MHW won't behave like an evergreen. It is telling that with a triple digit hardware bump, not a single game on the top 20 got a bump WoW.

Switch evergreens are still kicking ass. The Snack World is doing well and should cross 100k soon. Labo droped, but expectations are high for next week so we'll see what kind of baseline it'll have. Variety Kit could have steady sales, the Robot one won't in the short-term.

Good for PS4 and Switch, is it due to Golden Week right now? Was hoping for a tad more for Switch. I do wonder if Nintendo can realistically sell more than 35k a week in Japan and if there is software to push it through until Smash Bros and hopefully Pokémon at the end of the year

GoW is selling better than expected and Switch software sales are still strong despite that the hardware doesn't follow.

Hope things are fixed soon.

When Slim model only sold 4.5k units last week it was obvious to me that PS4 was suffering from some kind of shortages. I guess for some it wasn't.

PowaPro 2018:
Code:
01./00. [PS4] Jikkyou Powerful Pro Baseball 2018 <SPT> (Konami) {2018.04.26} (¥7.980) - 124.831 / NEW
02./00. [PSV] Jikkyou Powerful Pro Baseball 2018 <SPT> (Konami) {2018.04.26} (¥6.980) - 58.435 / NEW
Total: 183.266

PowaPro 2016:
Code:
2. [PS4] Jikkyou Powerful Pro Yakyuu 2016 - 101.981 (New)
3. [PSV] Jikkyou Powerful Pro Yakyuu 2016 - 84.973 (New)
4. [PS3] Jikkyou Powerful Pro Yakyuu 2016 - 56.477 (New)
Total: 243.431

So basically they lost the PS3's share. Stable performance on the PS4/PSV front. Nothing to complain.
The PSV version dropped by 40%

The PS4 version improved though

Hey this gaijin game with muscular protagonist does not looks so bad after all, desu desu

Come on Japan, take the hint : Sony games are good, you know. As said above, that's exactly the same hold seen in the UK, funnily (-35%).

Let's hope so. I'm a bit concerned about its future since it's a rather bold project which had probably a lot of money put into it, and so far it doesn't look too good for Nintendo.

Switch and 3DS have a very similar Week 17 in their second year in terms of Software sales. Slight boost to Switch hardware this week.

Next week is Golden Week back in 2012 the actual boost 3DS Software received wasn't that big since Fire Emblem was launched 2 weeks ago and experienced typical JRPG drops. Overall as we've seen with certain other Nintendo franchises that are targeting younger audiences both get smaller drops and bigger bumps during such holidays. Personally I think Week 18 Software for the Switch will be considerably bigger than the co-responding software sales during 2012. With the launch of DKTF I think it's possible we hit 300K.

The lack of Monster Hunter in the top 20 despite the HW increase is extremely baffling.

I think that's a pretty bad drop for Labo, all things considered. Not going to completely sound the alarm yet, but that drop doesn't bold well initially IMO.

Yikes at that drop off for the Labo Robo kit. Maybe Nintendo should rethink their pricing of that. And the variety kit is doing pretty meh as well.

There was tons of releases this week though so sales barrier to hit the top 20 got higher than last week. When we get top 30 from famitsu we can see did any PS4 game get any boost from last week.

Road to the Golden Week (April 29th - May 5th/6th), 2012 v.s. 2017 v.s. 2018, Week 17 update

Since it happened to be posted at the end of last page, here's a much smaller version, which compares 2012 with 2018, since 2012's day distribution is identical to this year, which means the hardware trends should be very similar

Wow, fantastic hold for God of War!

And yeah, RIP in peace, Project Giant Robot. We hardly knew ye.

Decent sales for both consoles for Golden Week, and seems key software got a nice little boost (or soft drop) too.

I mean this was the first holiday period test and the reason why Nintendo launched this now. The chances Labo is going to struggle for a while even if it does recover to more reasonable sales volume is pretty high I'd say.

At first week they sold like 10-20% of the stock according to Famitsu. Maybe they were stocking it for the future, but still, this number doesn't seem good.
Let's see:
1. Knows what Nintendo's expectations for Labo were when nobody else does, and concludes they weren't met after 2nd week for what is clearly a long term product

2. Provides incorrect numbers when asked about this (according to Famitsu, it sold 20-40% of shipment first week, not 10-20%, I double checked)

3. Doesn't know that in Japan shipments are what retailers order (and here they knew that Golden Week is just ahead), not what the publisher pushes or expects.

The last one is forgivable, the first sort of, but the second is not, in my book. Ignore Y/N? Yes.

Nice hold for God of War. Extremely impressed.

The evergreen titles keep trucking for Switch and I'm also liking the Snackworld hold.

Monster Hunter World no longer charting after 3 months.. Did not expect that.

Well I'll be. Naruto actually outsold the PS4 version's first week. O_o

15./00. [NSW] Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Legacy for Nintendo Switch <Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm \ Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 \ Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3> <FTG> (Bandai Namco Games) {2018.04.26} (¥6.800) - 6.682 / NEW

12./00. [PS4] Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Legacy <Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm \ Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 \ Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3> <FTG> (Bandai Namco Games) {2017.07.27} (¥6.800) - 5.626 / NEW

It's actually not comparable, like at all.
Storm on the Switch could be considered a new game, it's Nintendo's first Naruto in over a decade.

Meanwhile on Sony, individual games sold each in the hundreds thousands on Ps3 and people already moved on to Storm 4, which debuted with 65K in Japan.

6K is actually very weak for the Switch.

I dunno if Labo ends up finding an audience through WoM or long burn. Maybe it doesn't. That said I was expecting it to have a drop around 70%. We're still in the wait and see if this project finds ground period.

Good week for Switch evergreens. I'm not surprised the Labo Robot Kit isn't doing too hot. The Variety Kit is just better value.

I think Konami lost a lot of sales by not having a Switch version for the Jikkyou Powerful Pro Baseball 2018.
Still don't understand their criteria for ports. This one seems like such a sure bet

despite that the hardware doesn't follow.
yet still better than PS4, so what is it? is PS4 doing trash or Switch not doing good?

I would assume they were reasonably high in Japan given the release date. Maybe it will recover, but so far signs do not look good IMO.
>Late April
unless, you are implying 2 weeks before GW is any magic number in Japan, I call BS, and we still dont have any number just people trying to guess it out for doom and gloom (as per the norm with nintendo)
