Switch with notable increase.

Snack World on its way to outsell Ni No Kuni 2 in Japan.

PS4 in decline despite Golden Week.

God of War deserves twice this number, but at least it's the new best selling entry of the franchise and wasn't as much overlooked as it could have been after the first week.

Very impressive showing for Switch evergreen games.

Hardware sales really drove up software sales.

Pokkén and ARMS back at 4k+ is pretty amazing.

I didn't expect that much from Donkey Kong. Such a great game so far so it's nice to see these numbers. I hope it has good legs.

Strong GW Boost for majority of Switch titles, nothing reaching the level of MK7 and Mario & Sonic at the London Olypics type boost but still a big one for MK8D and Kirby. With this week a slow period begins but Switch should stack up pretty well compared to the 3DS in terms of Software until DQM launch - even with Mario Tennis Open launching mid-month.

That comparison sums up the switch well. Selling almost half the 3DS that week and waaaaay behind in lifetime sales and yet it comfortably sells more SW. Once the switch gets into its groove and starts moving a lot of HW we're going to see some monster SW sales

I'm not sure about Labo's third week being bigger than DKTF, I think DKTF could potentially open close to 100K, expecting a bigger opening than Mario + Rabbids for the Kong.

the Kong didn't let me down, very close to 100K launch - should have no problem surpassing 300K in 2018.

01./00. [NSW] Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze <ACT> (Nintendo) {2018.05.03} (¥5.980) - 88.421 / NEW
01./00. [NSW] Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle <SLG> (Nintendo) {2018.01.18} (¥5.980) - 66.692 / NEW <78,26%>

Snack World continues to remain pretty steady on amazon. Game should surpass 75K by May 6th - likely beyond 100K by the end of May.

Just a few hungered copies short of 75K...

09./11. [NSW] The Snack World: TreJarers Gold <RPG> (Level 5) {2018.04.12} (¥5.980) - 12.654 / 74.638 (+21%)

So how does golden week work in this case, does this mean that there will likely be a bigger than normal drop off for Donkey Kong next week?

That's both Japan and the UK now where the Switch version of Tropical Freeze has sold double the amount of the Wii U version in its launch week. Are we safe to assume it has done the same in every other country?

What was the first week worldwide sales of the Wii U version out of interest?

I'm glad that DK:TF is getting some love. Such an underappreciated game on the Wii U. Pretty happy that all Switch games saw a nice increase.

not a bad drop for God of War. Impressed Nintendo Labo had a rebound, but I guess it's to be expected, kids and golden week. It really shows how biased Japan is towards Nintendo lol
nice debut for DKTF

Somewhere. I think.
I was convinced MHW would pop back up with the GW, but it looks like it didn't (I assume it's not far from the game ranked #20, though).

And since 1-2-Switch charted this week, that means it's now been in the Top 20 during more weeks than MHW, which is definitely not what I was expecting...

Also really happy for Donkey Kong. I am playing the game for the first time right now and it's an amazing game.

Ok hardware sales for Switch, we will see next week if these are thanks to Donkey/Labo or Golden Week. My guess is that it is due mostly thanks to the latter as some people that couldn't find the system this Christmas jumped the gun at this other seasonal occasion. Switch is probably considered too expensive right now to have these kind of sales during other regular weeks so these probably will keep depend on holidays like for this week when you make gifts rather than impulse purchases. I still think that for many reasons (smaller, cheaper) a Switch Mini could really help its sales especially in Japan.

Wow at DK first week.

I find it interesting that MHW did not benefit from GW (or at least not enough to show up in the top 20). It might mean that it has sold to most people interested in it on the PS4, then again it could be that people interested in it at this stage buy it used (?)

Switch HW got a bump but it wasn't a particularly big one. It feels like HW sales are always a little disappointing. SW sales on the other hand are fantastic for the switch. Great opening for DK and the evergreen titles are selling incredible amounts. Labo is slightly disappointing, time will tell if it has a long tail though.

Another strong week from the PS4 as well.
NSW HW sales are only disappointing if compared to past Nintendo handheld that were much cheaper at that point.

Switch is a beast HW/SW wise considering the current price. The market is quite big when you see how much people spend on it.

It's good that Nintendo didn't raise the price of the game in Japan at least. Happy that more people are playing it.

DKTF will probably break 1 million with all version combined. That would be such an achievement from the disastrous debut on Wii U and put it on par with DKR on Wii.
