Suprised to see Vesperia doing better on PS4 even tho
1. The Switch pretty much caught up with the ps4 in Japan.
2. The ps3 already got Vesperia
3. Portability.
Been hearing from word of mouth on Twitter that Vesperia was understocked in some places. I could definitely see it hitting the average 100k to 200k LTD sales for a Tales of re-release if there is enough interest, and if the Switch version is able to offer some support. I feel like maybe we'll see a bit more Vesperia Switch sales later since New Super Mario Bros may have affected it's Week 1 sales.
At this rate, since no shipment arrived yet, sales for week 2 will drop like a rock.

Wonder if there's going to be a higher baseline this year. Last year was pretty static.Let's Go fell off a cliff as expected, by March it won't even chart probably.
Wanna see growth?
It seems to me games that are both on PS4 and the Switch, sell usually better on the PS4. But the gap is not as big.
So Mario seems like a good candidate to be a million seller with that opening, but the surprise game of this year might actually be Fitness Boxing. Climbing slowly into the top 20 is impressive and word of mouth has taken effect. Its a really good fitness game so it could snowball into high numbers eventually. Really nice to see and might push Nintendo to bring back stuff like WiiFit if it ends up doing well.

Fitness Boxing is really surprising.

Not seen anything yet but from my own experience with the game I can definitely say that its a genuinely good excersize and fun to play/unlock stuff. Thats why I thought this game might be a hit a few weeks ago when I bought it. There were literally no commercials or whatever where I live so it had to come from word of mouth.Maybe derailing slightly, but i've seen next to nothing on Fitness Boxing and did wonder if it was a good fitness game. Has any of the game sites reported on it?
I know that. Was just an arbitrary bottom I put for Q1. Was broken immediately lolI mean it could still do that rough from now on but immediately after the end of a price drop was always going to be particularly brutal.

Tales has the JRPG curse tho.
Is this the first battle between the JRPG curse vs "switch version outlegs PS4"?
Should be interesting to watch.
Retailers were surprised with Vesperia performance on Switch, it's not entirely BN's fault there were supply problems at first week. We still talk for Tales that usually goes for 90% drop at second week, overstocking isn't an option for them.

That's a way better week 1 than i expected for Switch. NSBU also did very nice.
PS4 numbers uh

How did those games do?Fitness Boxing isn't a new IP. It's the sequel of Shape Boxing 1 and 2 that came out on Wii.
100k+ the first, 50k- the second.
If it will have any leg at all (it won't)
You can leg completely fine on crutches.
oh wow I missed that
Last year also had Famitsu at 6k lower than MC,so unless the difference is stark (well above 10k),I don't think it will change the situation noticeably. It's a better week than expected for Switch, but maybe media create is correcting its switch numbers, so Let's see how this turns out.
If ps4 stays under 20k and switch stays above 70k, the switch will pass ps4 LTD and reach 8M LTD by the start of next fiscal year.
Based on...?Got damn at that PS4 drop!!! Unbelievable!
I'm surprised to continue to see the PS4 version of games outsell the Switch version. Last was DQB2 and now Tales. The Switch version of DQB2 was able to outsell the PS4 version over time, but that doesn't look to be the case for Tales. Interesting.
Thanks, seems like the range where Fitness Boxing might land into.
Based on the PS4 version selling more than 50% more than the Switch version in its first week. The Switch version would have to have some insane legs to come out on top.
Yup. Although, it is also pretty apparent that PS4 is kind of hitting a ceiling in Japan. I am always surprised at the shock people get when PS4 numbers are so low. It is about to be in it's 6th year on the market in Japan so it's obvious that it's selling potential is what it is. No mega hit will really change that at this point. PS4 will continue to sell modestly until the PS5 releases and I think we can expect a downward trend with that too since Japan has been moving away from traditional console gaming.
