Great debut for New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe. Now to see the legs... Tales of Vesperia did well, according to expectations. Wonder if Switch version will eventually outleg PS4 version (probably not).

NSMB did above expectations as it had literally zero hype before holidays. Switch installed base grew a lot thanks to Smash, Pokémon and Mario Party and now new adopters are looking for other games to play. Very smart release window.

Also, Switch hardware and software is doing pretty well. PS4 on the other hand...

So Mario seems like a good candidate to be a million seller with that opening, but the surprise game of this year might actually be Fitness Boxing. Climbing slowly into the top 20 is impressive and word of mouth has taken effect. Its a really good fitness game so it could snowball into high numbers eventually. Really nice to see and might push Nintendo to bring back stuff like WiiFit if it ends up doing well.

Not too bad for Vesperia I think. Probably does not say much about the ability for the next mainline game to be up compared to Berseria.

The sleeper hit no one expected. It seems that game rose in sales which would be pretty amazing for Week 2.

As expected by many, Builders 2 Switch is outlegging the PS4 version.

Interesting that the two PS4 games enjoyed the smallest drops, should be interesting if this is because New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe release and next week we see no drop for Switch evergreens. Overall Switch hardware is about where I expected it to land, but next weeks hardware numbers will be more interesting. I hope Switch keeps a 60K baseline for the rest of this quarter.

Massive drops for Nintendo and Sony all round. I'm very disappointed to see PS4 so low. Hopefully it recovers for the rest of January with the 3 games coming but I really hope Sony finally give it that permanent price cut after the spring releases are over.

We're early days, but I'm really curious how long Switch HW sales alone will outpace last YTD Switch + 3DS HW. Right now it's about 30k ahead, which means Nintendo is likely well up YoY in revenue.

Both switch and PS4 need one, but I imagine Nintendo and Sony won't do regional cuts and will be a bigger deal

Go Vacation could be a 100K seller.

Much better but they were new games. NSMB DS and Wii are the 3rd and 10th best-selling games ever in Japan:
