It will be interesting to see how the "God of legs" will compare to "Labomba" in a few weeks, when legs actually matter.

Caligula on Vita seemed to be a sort of quiet success that did better than I thought it was.

Between the wom on that version and the anime, I expected more from this PS4 remake

Is Donkey Kong's drop good? It's almost the biggest one this week but it is also the newest title in the chart so it makes sense. I don't expect to become another Switch big evergreen but if it could show Arms (still top 20 yay!!) kind of legs it would be great.

Labo is also doing ok, looks like it will hang around for the year and it will surely rise again in Obon and Christmas now.

Slow week but:

- Switch is proving to have sustainable baseline around 35k units which is not bad considering its price and the lack of big software;
- Switch software has amazing legs overall. All Nintendo-published games are still charting!
- PS4 sales show that the platform can't reach a mainstream market even with price cuts, compelling software, free games, bundles, peripherals and new versions. The platform had a boost thanks to World but that boost lasted too little.

Caligula was only on sale for 3 of those days if that makes any difference, /shrug.

Four days and 99% of games release on Thursday.

Caligula is sadly a disappointment, especially considering they clearly are investing more in the property now (even if the anime is a mess).

Funny thing is that Switch will consistently outsell last year numbers every week until H2, and will sell significantly more in the week of Minecraft and Mario Tennis. Then, H2 actually has games releasing, so it should get well ahead of last year's numbers as Q3 progresses, and be well ahead of 2017 by the end of the year. I still think 4.8M is reachable, especially if Pokémon comes out this year.

Obviously its a big if, but if Switch can hold around 30K until Minecraft/Mario Tennis in a month, I'd say that's a not horrible baseline after by far the worst period of the year for Switch will have had.

arms still being below 1-2 switch is an injustice...

The range will go even further u don't need to worry.^_^ Both WW or Jp.

There is no God of Legs in JP. The most God of War will stay in the chart is another 3 to 4 weeks. Labo on the other hand will stay for quite some time on the virtue that Switch is actually a desirable product in Jp by mass audience.

09./10. [NSW] Super Mario Odyssey # <ACT> (Nintendo) {2017.10.27} (¥5.980) - 4.632 / 1.725.867 (+1%)

Mario marching his way towards 2 million.

For all the talk of Labo flopping I feel like the Variety Pack has done fairly well. I guess it all depends on what Nintendo's expectations were to begin with. Even if it's not a runaway success at this point I also don't believe it's a flop either.

I wonder what a new SKU that has say 2 of the smaller projects like the Fishing Pole, Steering Wheel, and small RC Car for somewhere around $40 would sell like. Would give it a cheaper barrier for entry and potential get more people willing to give it a try.

You say that now, but most people (at least I think) thought that last week it would be a quiet one. It was far from it lol.
I wasn't being serious lol. We're in E3 pre-season now. There will be semi-big announcements every week for the next few weeks, and then of course plenty to talk about after E3. There won't be any quiet MC threads for a while.

Even without announcements, there's plenty of residual Capcom fuckery to argue about.

Just wanted to thank you for chiming in on the last thread Vinkk, do you foresee any possibility that DQB2 could impact Minecraft negatively?

Not really. Most of the people I know who are playing DQB are other adults. There might be a bit of overlap but not many kids will buy "something like Minecraft" and not buy the original. They need the real deal so they can play with their friends.
