Caligula opening to first place.
Donkey Kong going with the legs.
Switch and ps4 maintaining their previous weeks numbers.
Not really and eventful week.

I wasn't being serious lol. We're in E3 pre-season now. There will be semi-big announcements every week for the next few weeks, and then of course plenty to talk about after E3. There won't be any quiet MC threads for a while.

Even without announcements, there's plenty of residual Capcom fuckery to argue about.
Capcom always with the surprises to keep us on our toes lol.

Japanese charts are so uneventful now... I wonder if a new handheld from Nintendo is needed for an interesting shake-up.

Caligula opening at about 10k less than the vita version.
FuRyu put a lot of marketing behind this remake, I hope they'll eventually localize it for the west.

Does anyone have a comparision of Labo combined to the start of the DS evergreens with Kawashima and Nintendogs?

pacman!

NSW increased!
PS4 decreased!

Not sure if it's because of the recent news about how PS4 is entering the end phase affecting the sales of the PS4.

Not sure if the increase of NSW is because of Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze + Hyrule Warriors Definitive Editon combo?

Next week or 2 weeks, BotW for NSW only will cross the million mark.

Ps4 last phase news came after Media Create stopped tracking we'll see next week if if the news affects ps4 sales.

Code:
11./11. [NSW] The Snack World: TreJarers Gold <RPG> (Level 5) {2018.04.12} (¥5.980) - 3.549 / 82.504 (-18%)

Should reach 100k easily, maybe it can sell half of what the 3DS version has done (which would mean about 130k) at the very end.

So Labo VC seems to be holding on pretty well with no bomba bin pricing that I know of.
Also debuted pretty high in NA with the concerns being if it would continue to have legs.
Robo kit bombed, but it seems like VC will end up being pretty successful by year's end.

You might want to add the hardware sales of said weeks to get a good picture oh how they were moving units.

Overall slow week for both Switch and 3DS looking at the two systems launch aligned. Week 21 marks the release of Mario Tennis Open, which gave a good boost in terms of software sales for the 3DS during May 2012. As noted before Switch 2017 evergreen titles have started to drastically outpace 2011 3DS evergreens. Splatoon 2's 2018 sales finally overtook Mario Kart 7's 2012 sales at this point:

Top Selling Switch Games 2018:
1) Splatoon 2 - 558.178
2) Kirby Star Allies(2018) - 500.622
3) Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - 409.478

9) Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games(2012) -167.311
10) Hatsune Miku and Future Stars: Project Mirai(2012) - 132.689

Overall by the end of August I fully expect that Switch software to have fully caught up on whatever lead 3DS was able to build during the first six months of the year.

At what percentage do we consider the chart a Pac-Man?

One platform over 60%.

Yawning Pacman for the slow week.

Why do we need a healthy pac man?
Why don't we say dying pac man?

Nonsense, it's a Pac-man alright.

We must get to the bottom and settle this. Clearly, Pacman is 66.66%

Worried about PS4 if this console cycle really is going to be another 3 years. It's in for a world of hurt.

Thank you very much! I thought that Nintendogs took off faster somehow.

IIRC it was one of the first titles that fully realised the DS' potential and captured the blue ocean strategy envisioned by Nintendo. Puts the Labo release a little bit in perspective for me.
Especially with the higher price of both the Switch and the game itself.

I'm really excited for the rest of the year though. This is the first time in generations that Nintendo is pursuing a core centric strategy and is building from that to a more casual audience.
And they seem to go at this really strategic too - they paced themselves pretty well over the last few month with ports, deluxe editions and new games.
If they are able to hold this release schedule for the second half of the year, it's seriously quite impressive and the first time since the NES/SNES - GBA that they are able to handle 2 systems handily for over a year.

Always impressive Nintendo evergreens keep increasing their totals long after other titles come and go. Curious to see how their "big" June games Sushi Striker and Mario Tennis do.

Also, incoming mild PS4 software boost next week. My gut feeling says Detroit will do better than has been discussed, in part thanks to the decent marketing campaign it has had in JPN.
