Question, even with the decline in popularity in mind will YW4 still manage to have an impact on Switch hardware or will just give it a small bump at best?

With E3, YW4, SMM2 and a possible revision it will be hard to specifically attribute the WoW bumps to each of these factors.

Btw I am pretty sure that YW4 was delayed because the revision is coming.

It does seem bizarre to delay it a few weeks like that's really enough time to improve the game at all. Having said that after how much level 5 has bungled things this gen I feel that's giving them too much credit.

If there's a revision coming that is supposedly replacing the standard SKU it would be crazy to start promoting holiday games without it. And this promotion will start at E3. They should announce it right before E3, make all games playable at the show floor with it, Treehouse, etc. Look at all the ads Nintendo releases for first-party games, they all show the device a lot, would be silly to promote a model that soon will be taken off the market

There's two weeks till e3 begins so that's probably the limit if it's out this summer.
It's not going to be revealed at e3 according to Furukawa, after e3 is too late, no other software out this summer will be as strong as Mario Maker.

Imagine this is the most likely week if it's still happening.

"Days Gone returned at 1st place after 2 weeks. As for new releases, PS4 version of Assassin's Creed III Remastered ranked 3rd and Switch version 8th. Also, Resident Evil: Origins Collection ranked 5th, and Switch Team Sonic Racing 9th. Team Sonic Racing is also available on PS4 and is 12th. In May, there are fewer release titles compared to last year and we expect to see the new titles scheduled for release in June."

Somewhere. I think.
Nintendo should cancel the launch of the game.

Nintendo just shot themselves in the foot.

I don't know how much the rest of you know about Japanese sales data (I'm an expert), but ComgNET numbers and Amazon hourly charts are huge parts of it. It's not like it is in America where you can become successful just by topping NPD charts. If you post disappointing COMGnet numbers over in Japan, you bring shame to yourself, and the only way to get rid of that shame is repentance.

What this means is the japanese public, after seeing the COMGnet numbers, is not going to want to purchase Super Mario Maker 2, nor will they purchase any of Nintendo's games. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but Nintendo has alienated an entire market with such disappointing numbers.

Nintendo, publicly apologize and cancel Super Mario Maker 2 for Nintendo Switch or you can kiss your business goodbye.

copypastaing like it's 2008, yo.

Depends if you're interested in COMGNet or not to begin with, but you get to see actual numbers instead of just a top 10/20/30 etc. list.

The store is focusing more and more on mobile sections of the store, has reduced number of stores over the years and has generally not been good gage at determining switch software. The top 10 media create is actually more valuable.

What is the mobile sections of the store? Do they sell cellphones? How many stores do they have now? I think they had 19 stores like a few years ago. Thats the last number i can remember hearing at least.

Yeah, i agree that Media Create Top 10 is more presentable, but it was only a question about value in general, not necessarily saying that it was more or less value compared to something else =) So for whats its worth, at least they (COMGNet) offer their actual sales numbers.

Comgnet has become irrelevant for representing Japanese market over the years, more than every other chain that gives public reports.

Guess we can expect the release date for Sword and Shield this week.

I think it is 13 now, someone would have to fact check me on that, and I just seen images in these types of threads, maybe Japanese user will post one, but basically feels like focus has been on cellphones is the direction the store has been heading. Plus see Chris's post.

Understood. Mobile gaming in Japan is huge, and retail sales of traditional gaming software arent as strong as it used to be, so it wouldnt surprise me if COMGNet have shifted some of their focus.

Yeah, i know that COMGNet isnt very representative for the national market, so wasnt trying to say anything about that :) I was taking it more for granted that COMGNet was only seen as a more anecdotal thing, so i didnt consider that maybe someone are more new to the threads and dont know much about COMGNet, sorry about that. I was just thinking that i think its better to see actual numbers compared to just seeing a Top 20 list or so when talking isolated of COMGNet themself, despite being anecdotal. So its fair enough and good to point out that COMGnet isnt very representative to the japanese market in general, indeed. In case someone is wondering, COMGNet is just a small retail chain in one prefecture in Japan, so its just more of an anecdotal thing. Its not really comparable to like Tsutaya or GEO, which has a lot more stores across Japan. But i do find some of the more anecdotal stuff enjoyable too, like COMGNet, Game Maya report (when we got those) and Vinnk's Village :)
