They dont care for marketing or oversight at all. Sonic Boom is the latest example.

Awful week for HW. The good thing is that it has taken this long for HW sales to drop despite the really week start to the year. Whilst the back half of the year is stacked still feels like we'll have to wait until SMM2 until anything changes significantly. Hopefully the revision is actually coming to add a bit of excitement back into sales age.

You aren't wrong. Most Sonic games sold less than 5% of total sales in Japan , even during his Genesis/Dreamcast days.

Its just that nowadays its abysmally low in Japan. Like Generations sold over 2m worldwide with around 10k copies in Japan. Wouldn't be surprised if countries outside of US/EU had more sales than Japan. Which is his home country , just kind of weird.

I'm asking because I'm curious if Mario Maker will cause the legs of both those games to weaken even further when we start seeing the charts in the coming months.

Ah, I thought it was strange it had absolutely no impact whatsoever on Pokémon sales (that actually dropped by 22% on Famitsu). It's clear the bundle doesn't have the same kind of selling power as during the last restock, but for it to have no impact whatsoever (Nintendo wouldn't have bothered restocking it otherwise) is a different story.

Wish we could get Media Create data to see if there's any significant difference in HW sales.

There's a general apathy towards Origins Collection and first week sell-through wasn't the best. Initial shipment is small but retailers could have problem to clear it if sales don't hold at second week.

I noticed the database in OP has been downloaded over 2000 times. I know it's a little outdated but things are very strict with the free time I can devote to it plus there is a major info upgrade from old Famitsu magazines in hold so at least this year don't expect an update. How have the previous YW games opened? I know it's in for a big drop but these numbers look absolutely disastrous for 2 weeks of sales. Level 5 really fucked up if that's how bad sales are looking.
