If a game can't find appeal on PS4, PS5 won't be some kind of saviour for it.

For a system that is expected to launch at high price priority at software sales will have the games that push its specs, not those with PS4 assets and certainly not small sellers and IPs.

we don't really know yet what babylon's fall will do in terms of appeal. but yeah a new SKU doesn't fix any game if there's no appeal. We've seen it time and time again.

my general point was we don't know if the game is 2021, 2022, or whatever atm. If you're releasing a new IP potentially that late, you should have a SKU on the newest hardware. If the game doesn't have appeal, it bombs regardless. If it has appeal, that new SKU would help

same thing for Project Awakening, which we can pretty much assume is cross gen.

Alicization Lycoris could have the biggest opening for any Sword Art Online game.

Any realistic expectation for Xeno retail debut numbers?
I suppose it is included in the voucher program too, right?

Sword Art Online peaked with Lost Song and is at continued decline since then. It had 500k+ sales in Asia between PS3 and Vita, these numbers aren't coming back.

That isn't an April Fools thing? From the mock-up of the picture the game screen would only be around 1-1.5 inches.

Amazon Japan now showing PS4 Slm and PS4 Pro backordered until June 17 and 18th respectively (previously they were only available via marketplace jacked up prices)

Hilariously this is pretty much exactly after the Days of Play promotion ends. Not much of a Days of Play for those that don't have a PS4 already.

And I continue to be baffled as to why the North American import of Maneater is so desired as well, especially since silpheed's pictures earlier shows that there's a JP release of the game.

Hopefully we get numbers today and hopefully ps4 gets enough stock during the promotion. Crazy times we live in.

not bad!
heavily discounted during the months, but still...a good result imho
PS4 and Switch should be the leading platforms, right?

PC might be high up there as well. Wouldn't be surprised if it did more than the Switch version there.
VC1 was huge on PC and seems like half the reason the series even came back (The port itself was used to make the PS4 and Switch ports)

VC1 on PC is another Bayonetta case.

It did well, but only at a very low price.

I also had the "this must be an April Fools thing" reaction

SEGA continues to make baffling hardware decisions 20 years after getting out of the hardware business!

Microsoft are launching the Series X this holiday in Japan:

That's better than what they did with the XB1, at least. I'm curious to see if they can beat the 250k mark lifetime!
