Sure is nice of MHW to prevent the full NSW sweep. I look forward to seeing many images of Link climbing things in this thread.

Nice number for Doraemon, but it seems E3 has not done work on Switch HW?
MHW is in top 10! Seems the State of Play promotion is helping PS4 Software too.

Switch hardware still down weekly compared to last year.
When SMM2 releases, we're going to see a good stream of games coming out on Switch, hopefully pushing the baseline much further up again.

Reatilers are promoting Switch 3000 yen deal, there wasn't any case for a big boost this week or next.

42.000 units for Doraemon's Story of Seasons is a nice result. Hopefully good word of mouth will give it legs. Since it's a game focused on kids, I expect good post-launch sales.

PS4 is being sold for 26.000 yen (discounted) in Amazon.jp. Is there any promotion going on?

Thought switch sales might start lifting a bit by now. YW4 doesn't seem likely to move the dial all that much so hopefully SMM2 gets it done. Maybe we'll have to wait for the revision before we see any significant boost.

PS4 doing decent numbers with the state of play promotion. Makes you wonder if Sony ever intends to make a price like this permanent or if we'll only ever see temporary drops.

Evergreens just keep on doing work. It's always interesting how the different titles go up and down each week. You would expect them all to go up and down together but they all seem to fluctuate.

Good for Zelda and Smash. MHW preventing an all Switch top ten. HW sales remain meh.

As Chris mentioned, retailers seem to be pushing the prootion for Switch that launches June 27th, so it seems we shouldn't expect decent numbers until then.

This week, in particular, Zelda nd Smash have obvious reasons, but more generally, games like Mario Kart and Splatoon depend more on younger audiences than Zelda, and as a result you see distinct behaviours for both types.
What's sustaining PS4?
PS4 currently has a 5k yen sale for Days of Play.

Somewhere. I think.
Story of Seasons x Popolocrois sold 44k at launch, so looks like this Doraemon entry is doing fine. Legs will determine whether it outsells it or not.

With the promotion starting on June 27th, it's unlikely YW4 will have much of an impact on sales, sadly (especially with Nintendo stopping shipments). Of course, that'd be a different story if YW could still sell 1+m units at launch.

I think the upcoming Icebourne beta might have a little more to do with that than State of Play.
Completely forgot about the beta. Hope dlc will do great.
Nintendo announced a promotion running from June 27th (3k Yen coupon to use on the eShop with all Switch purchased), so any bump due to E3 was most likely neutralised by that.
Thx for the info. With MM2 release we can see great result that week then.

So with the price promotion accompanying SMM2 what sort of bump is everyone expecting? Is 100K possible? I'm still not totally sure what to expect from SMM2 in terms of pushing HW. I feel very confident that it will sell a lot (becoming a multi million seller) but no idea how much HW it will move especially first week.

Let the Nintendo Summer begin!

To be fair, Popolocrois didn't sell well back then, with poor legs and strategy sequel scrapped (and the franchise gone to mobile). Doraemon should fare better over time.

Good ps4 sales again. Going to be depressing as a PS fan for the next few weeks/months until the permanent price cut finally arrives.

Did not expect this to save us from an all switch top 10! I wonder what it's total including digital is up to now.

Nintendo needs to drop the revision soon - dont know if i can wait until September.
At least YW4 and MM2 will help a bit...still think they should have dropped the Revision by start of summer and not end of it. Well....it is what it is.

Don't forget about the upcoming deal: starting from June 27th, each Switch SKU includes a Yen 3,000 code that can be used on the eShop. Chris1964 reported that retailers have started to promote it, which is likely the reason sales didn't increase that much last week.

Not really, things should be good/great starting in two weeks until Obon imo. Then they can announce the revision before the onslaught of games coming out in September.

I looked at Amazon Japan and it advertises the new version right under the price. Practically telling you to wait.

There is zero chance they launch a PSP3. That would be a disaster outside of Japan.

With streaming becoming a thing Sony will more likely offer PS NOW to mobile devices then launch portable hardware. And that's the smart strategy long term.
Yeah, after the Vita, i dont think a new portable is in the works. Maybe i misunderstood, but i thought he was referring mainly to the PS4 (and the upcoming PS5). Just curious what he think they could do to easily fix it and what Sony did wrong.

True, my comment was more a general statement with the Switch. The Revisions cloud will always be above its performance, making you think ...what it could have been.

Then again ....the jump will be even bigger for them by September with two new revisions and the Holiday season starting.

Sure, not doubting Nintendos moves - it make sense to wait with the revision launch until they can have enough ready at launch and retailer have gotten rid of most current models. Talking more as Sales-Era observer. who want things to be more exciting again and not this predictable lol.

Yeah but things should be getting pretty interesting in the coming weeks ! You have a great release schedule + price promotion + Obon. That's already a lot, it is not like Switch is reaching saturation. It was selling impressively well during most of this year.

You are right.
It performed well above expectations most of they year. Hardware sales in combination with not much happening on the software front the last weeks made it looks worse than it actually is.

Looking forward to YW4+SMM2 and the price promotion impact the upcoming weeks.
