As I said after playing the demo, and now reinforced from the full release, the Switch version of God Eater 3 seems really solid. A bit soft on IQ but that's about it.

Hopefully it does well, not that they're doing it any favours.

Plus, I prefer to be realistic than optimistic. Like many others, I've been burned by thinking Labo would do great, Nintendo would reach their 20m/17m objectives, third-party would jump on Switch in the third year etc. It pays to not be delusional.
Imagine being the type of person that got "burned" because Nintendo was short on a sales projection. That got "burned" because a new initiative didn't sell as well as you thought it would do. Like what sort of person do you have to be unless you were a shareholder, in which case who fucking cares, their stock value is still up. Like what pays here. What actual tangible value is there in this situation unless you were some sort of prat that always tries to be right all the time.

Previews are strong for Fire Emblem.

And it looks like Fire Emblem is doing pretty good digitally both in the USA and Japan.

A taiwanese website is the source for GEO sales?

I would not have expected that.

Also, what is this chart that is actually linked?

Legs happen through used market and digital sales which are both more significant on the PS4 than on the Switch. And this has always been true so I'm not sure why you're just now choosing to be depressed about it.

lmao

Like what sort of person do you have to be unless you were a shareholder, in which case who fucking cares, their stock value is still up. Like what pays here. What actual tangible value is there in this situation unless you were some sort of prat that always tries to be right all the time.

When you care about sales, numbers and datas, when you like to discuss about those, you care about being in-line with reality and not being overly optimistic because of personal bias, like it's the case most of the time. What pays ? It pays to not be delusional/biased about a subject you care for. Recently, many people got burned by being so sure X or Y would happen, not just me. Labo failure and that 20m/17m projections are just the most recent ones I can remember on the fly, but there were many more in the span of the last 2 years. Labo was bound to fail in retrospective, it was dumb a offer no one cared about and most people laughed at it for good reasons. Yet, many Nintendo fans thought it would do great (not just me, most Nintendo fans and I bet you too) because we were just projecting our wishes. One of the rare thing I don't feel like being pessimistic about, regarding Japan, is Switch software doing great, constantly.

People thinking the Switch Lite will put the Switch sales in-line with the 3DS are just projecting in my opinion and I really doubt it will happen outside of the hype launch, that will last some months after release. The hardware handheld decline will be further confirmed. That's my careful/pessimistic (criminal ?) take.

Also , don't try to play it like many people don't take those subjects very seriousely. Way more seriousely than I do and way more seriousely than they should. Sales discussion are serious business, unfortuantely. Your passive agressiveness and borderline insults alone are quite telling. You don't resort to that tone over something as trivial as a video-game discussion, especially when it's completely uncalled for.

Ninja Box release is one day before DQ 11 S ( 26 september ), a difficult date.
But with switch lite release, perhaps kids audience would be here...

I don't understand. The used market is an exchange between a former owner and a new one. The company releasing the game doesn't get a penny through the used market, unless I'm missing something. How could we call that "legs" ?

I'm lost, what's the point of this argument? Is it legs don't matter? Sony releases more games than Nintendo? Nintendo doesn't release enough games? Legs don't matter? Sorry, having trouble following.
The original argument was something like PS4 having so many games and Switch so few is the reason one doesn't have evergreens and the other does.

After that the ball was lost.

Dengeki gave market split for first half or 2019 (Jan-Jun)

Switch - 62,4%
PS4 - 32,8%
3DS+PSV+XB1 - 4,8%

With Lite launch and the upcoming software, Switch will end with 70-80% of the market for full year.

But used sales are the metric showing the PS4 to be a leading system in Japan!

Or was Psycho talking without data to back him up once again? :p

I might try to bring back the Publisher breakdown for Switch sometime soon. I'd have to sit down and run through it for a few hours.

SD Gundam is a title that belongs to the old PS4/PSV dual releases and was announced months ago. It's an improvement from 3DS support but when BN becomes really serious with Switch and adds it to PS4/XB1/PC AA line we'll talk again.

That's fair. But I would submit that even PS4/PSV dual releases was seen as an unknown last year.

Yeah, it was a lowkey release even on the initial platforms and from what we know it sold average at best.
Yet some people expect Bamco to go all out in terms of Marketing for a late port on Switch. Dont understand it either.

Do revisions generally have plenty of stock for launch, or could there be stock issues for the lite when it launches?

I'm betting the Lite was announced so early so that they could get a good read on the amount of stock needed for when it launches.

But Japan will only begin taking preorders on Aug 30 for the normal editions lol. The Pokemon limited edition already started preorders. Guess they are using the more attractive one which launches much later to take the load off from the normal editions.

I didn't realize they were waiting so long in Japan... weird. But anyway there are other ways to gauge interest besides preorders.

It's taken me several days before I realised the Switch Lite announcement was timed to match the start of Pokemon preorders.
