I'm not sure i expected this low of a debut but the game is coming on 10 years old and has released on so many platforms. Its sales potential was always going to be limited.

If only Famitsu tracked digital sales too...

A 9 year old game that got a remaster last year wasn't going to sell much more than that.

Catherine on Switch simply didn't expand its original audience, in my opinion because such a game doesn't have the power to attract other gamers than those already covered on PS3 and PS4/PSV last year.

I still feel that Nintendo discontinuing the 3DS was premature. It could have existed for another year or two as a budget option for legacy software, especially since is the first time since the Gamecube that the new console is a clean break with no back compat and the first time ever for the handhelds. New line-up of Nintendo Selects could have carried it.

Someone got banned in a thread recently for pointing out that a really popular game selling more than a lot of older games combined during its launch period wasn't really all that noteworthy, using AC as an example, and they proceeded to be dogpilled by about 100 people even after they were banned. It was kinda sad TBH.
