The Switch is 20nm. This is borderline caveman age and probably the reason why they had to downclock it so much. They didn't have a choice because they bought off the shelves chips to Nvidia; If a hardware revision comes out, and especially if it's a slightly bespoke design, I fully expect it to be close to the state of the art when it comes to chip fabrication.
X2 has a lot of its muscle dedicated to AI for cars parking and stuff, rather than "waste time" conditioning that for what would be drops in an ocean tier upgrade, I would instead prefer em to ride with switch and work harder on a proper SoC for Switch 2.

Why though? Nintendo hasn't cared about staying relevant from a hardware perspective for a long time and I don't see them starting now. Expecting anything more than X2 is pretty unlkely and will be 2+ years old when they launch like X1 was when the Switch launched.

If we're lucky, X2 provides a satisfying upgrade for mobile and a smaller one for docked. Not enough to get the attention of a 3P that weren't interested before, but more than enough to market and push some new releases.

The budget option seems more likely knowing Nintendo's usual priorities. I think if Nintendo looks at the performance of the platform at $300 + $60 releases vs $170 3DS w/ $40 releases or 3DS vs 2DS performance, they would realize how willing consumers are to pay higher prices as long as the experience is a good value. Ultimately, Nintendo is selling hardware to sell their 1P games though. Their games will run fine on a Switch at the same spec. Cheaper hardware will likely expand software sales more so than a Pro line that would sell to people that already own the platform.

That would alienate too much the fanbase. They must cater the entire audience. Also, where's Style Savvy? I wonder whether Syn Sophia is working on a new one on Switch or perhaps mobile?

Any spin-off is going to alienate part of the fanbase and the fashion aspect is already part of the experience in Splatoon.

Last Style Savvy came out late last year if I am not mistaken.

I wouldn't like not having a Mario Kart 9. They gave us 8 Deluxe to have a Mario Kart at launch, but it's kinda sad if that's the game we have to play for the next 6 years.

Well, alienating in terms of genre preferences is obvious---in terms of gender is less obvious. Not that fashion games can only be liked by females, but that's their main target.

Nintendo will do an All-star Kart game. Less within competition and more potential sales + they have already experimented with that in Mario Kart 8.

I am of the opinion that it has already started: with the Switch, Nintendo is back in the power race. It is not a race they intend to win, but it is one where they intend to stay close enough to their competitors to qualify as an hybrid console rather than a handheld that connects on TV. I think it makes a big difference.
The Switch is the most state of the art machine they have released since the GameCube; it's just that for the sake of mobility, compromises have to be made. But overall, they are competing for power; if the next generation of console targets 4K/60fps as a standard, Nintendo has a chance to receive ports at 1080-900p/30fps, which ultimately would be the best case scenario for them. Many of us gladly trade performances and eye candies for portability, since my favorite gaming device is always going to be the one I can actually play.

Nintendo cannot go with a X2 on their next revision since Pascal is not a die shrunk Maxwell GPU. They differ in FP16 and FP32 configuration

As I'm not that savvy on hardware. Mind elaborating this for me? From what I've read on forums this always seemed like many suggested. If this is not the case, what is to be expected from a potential Switch Pro/X in terms of hardware?

It's a bit late but I wonder what made Monster Hunter World to jump 13 spots in Media Create. I wonder if it was on sale.

I miss nakano Broadway... got a working super famicom for 100 yen at the junk store
I don't think there is a junk store anymore. May have missed it?

Anyway, I am thinking if I should go to another hardoff for a "junk" SFC or wait for Nintendo Online. Now I am pretty salty that they dumped the Virtual Console brand because I don't know if I should buy a retro console for the old games.

Lol. Nintendo should focus more on making more of their game ost available to be purchased.
