Amazon.jp shows the Switch version of Pro Baseball out of stock. Yodobashi Camera doesn't have problems though. It is possible that some chains had some problems, but it isn't nationwide yet.

Ghost of Tsushima will be 150k and Paper Mario 130k if Comg ratios work.

COMG is that lopsided in favor of samurai/ open world games? I would have guessed a ratio of 600x

"Ghost of Tsushima won 1st place this week. It is an open world historical action game with good word of mouth and many stores have high sell through.

The 2nd-place Paper Mario: The Origami King is also popular as a product with a GEO only Origami case and we expect it to be our main summer title.

Including the 9th ranked Together! The Battle Cats, the titles ranked in top 10 that released in July are 6 out of 10"

AND only absent TWO weeks total. Fucking wild. Pokemon and I guess Yokai-Watch are the only JRPGs (franchises) to do better than that leg-wise?

Hard to say.

Some previous Dragon Quest games had great legs too. Point is, the threshold to enter Top 30 was way higher.

For example, Dragon Quest IX launched in July 2009 and stopped charting in January 2010. But back then you needed to sell at least 3k units to enter the chart. Similar reasoning for Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker on DS. And we know they sold a lot outside rankings.

Ghost of Tsushima should do great overall in Japan. I hear it actually has a good JP localization, and that itself should help to go a long way.

I think there's a decent chance we see the Famicom Detective Club Games today given they are not internally developed.

Don't look now but Konami just passed Capcom and Level 5. They will be coming for Sega's booty too if eBaseball has good legs.

I think you forgot to include Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers, Atlus has published two games.

Why do they expect Paper Mario to be the main summer title? Do they expect it to have better legs than GoT?

It's possible at the time I decided to put that under Sega. I'll have to check my Excel when I get home.

i think mario 64 will get a remake since it is the most worthy out of all the 3d marios, every 3d mario after 64 just needs a graphics update/remaster and a few gameplay tweaks to bring it to the modern era

mario 64 not only needs a nice graphics boost but it also needs an online component since it is still the biggest mario for speed running, co/op, time trials would also be nice additions

the mario team would be ready with a full game by now, it'll be 3 full years since odyssey when we reach end of this year, so i think it'll be either:

1. mario 64 remake
2. odyssey 2
3. mario 64 remaster + mario 64 sequel (the fabled mario 128 becomes a reality? iirc mario 128 was suppose to be mario 64 sequel and confirmed to be unrelated to mario sunshine)

out of those 3, option 3 would be most hype while option 1 is more realistic since mario 64 is already such a solid game that a remaster would be more than enough, odyssey 2 is the most realistic if we go by history but in reality nintendo has not hinted it in any way

watever happens, i hope we dont just get a collection of ports, even if it is 4 mario games in a collection, at minimum we also need something *new* like a mario 64 remake

last gen we got zelda 64 remaster for 3ds, it only makes sense that mario 64 gets touched upon, its long overdue and theres no better time and console to make it happen, sales potential on switch is most optimal

working on mario 64 also means the team gets more time to work on odyssey 2 or the next 3d mario, theres no upcoming successor hardware or dry spells that forces nintendo to release the next 3d mario asap, it makes more sense to give it the most time in the oven they can give it

to close out mario they also have the next mainline 2d mario as an option, if we didnt have rumours of the mario collection i would have betted this to be the next mainline mario to be released

i wanna see wat art style they go with for next 2d mario, anything but the nsmb models again please, theres only so much the beautiful worlds can compensate for the stale nsmb characters artstyle, they need to go more cartoony/fantasy instead of the realistic route, even if they play it safe by making it semi spinoff with a different name and keep the nsmb brand for the casuals

with all that said, odyssey 2 seems to be the least likely to be released any time soon, nintendo has pushed out most of their big franchises, only 2d mario is left and that happens to be their most iconic evergreen/system seller

You know why I'm here.

Tensaiya Nomura

ALL RISE!

tumblr_nz2ic799wM1radtkso2_500.gif

It has finally happened. After 13 weeks, FF7 has left the charts (damn you new releases). The tensai has done it again. You can't make this stuff up.

KH3 sold an additional 22k after leaving the charts in the last week of June to December. It will be interesting to see how much FF7 does.

With this PS4 generation coming to an end, Nomura has 2 1 million sellers with KH3 and FF7. Considering FF15 was originally his game (and due to Versus XIII) and it still uses his characters, story, and even its music, some credit has to be given to him. So let's say 3 with an *. Only the one true tensai can achieve 3* 1 million sellers in Japan. An amazing accomplishment. Thank you all for supporting the one true tensei this gen and hopefully you will with the next. His legendary feats can't happen without your help. Thank you for your time.

:( Farewell brave traveler.

On that note. 10 years ago KH3 and FF7 Remake were spoken about in hushed whisper as the Holy Grail of gaming that would only happen in our wildest dreams. The pent up desire and hype made me think there was a bigger audience than there actually was. REmake 2 & 3 to a lesser extent as well.

Dragon Quest and Monster Hunter proved big numbers were possible on PS4.

Somewhere. I think.
New Momotaro Dentetsu is out on November 19th. Should be one of the big holiday titles.

Shin Megami Tensei V lives (2021 release), and Nocturne is getting a HD Remaster on October 29th.

Wow, SMTV is actually getting a worldwide simultaneous release. Totally didn't see that one coming, it's a first for Atlus, isn't it (wasn't someone talking about Atlus and ww release the other day? xD)

Atlus is late but it's there.

They're pursuing the same strategy they pursued on 3DS with Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers first and Shin Megami Tensei IV later on.

I think Shin Megami Tensei III HD will do very, very well.

I wonder how the remaster of Nocturne will do in Japan. Looking at the original's numbers in Japan, which were around 270,000 units, which seems high and low at the same time.

We went from Atelier building up a Switch audience over time to them announcing a new game in the series through a Nintendo Direct.

So Nocturne is coming to PS4 (so much for SMT = Nintendo exclusive...), so that would mean we're getting Persona 4 Golden on Switch. Fair is fair right?
