Funny. Sonic Forces only got around 10,000 sales between PS4 and Switch. Why does Sega think they can even get more sales? Sonic platformers sales look to be on a downward trend since Sonic Adventure for the Dreamcast.

Funny thing, the best selling game in Japan with Sonic in the title is the first Mario and Sonic Olympics game.

Either way, I think the demo is doing a lot of good for the game and if the pre orders pick up because of it I'm sure they'll revise their predictions higher.

And I don't see what's stopping them from having internal projection for how much their game will sell, even if they're not publishing it.

To be fair, I don't think either of those would be particularly unrealistic considering its 2 years late in Japan and how the PS4/PC versions did outside Japan.

The most surprising thing would be that SE would seemingly be happy with DQXI still trailing DQIX(and DQVIII?) even with the addition of DQXIS.

The guy was wrong a lot of time on basic reading. Pretty sure this estimation is just for where SE is publishing the game, so Japan only.

I'd say around 500k is more realistic but it depends on its legs during holidays. Surely Breath of the Wild has increased franchise awareness and brought a lot more new fans but Link's Awakening is still a very traditional Zelda which might not be interesting for those who liked Breath of the Wild for its open world structure.

Anyway, worldwide it's going to be a 4m seller at least.

Kirby had shipped 860k at the end of March. Looking at Famitsu from the end of March until this week it has sold 36k more at retail.

1m will happen early 2020 the latest.

MM3D sold 450K and OoT3D sold 636K according to Famitsu.

I think it's quite interesting when Konami, a company who could barely care about Switch has sold almost the same software as Koei Tecmo, a company that supports Switch a lot. KT really doesn't have any appealing games this gen for some reason...

Is it? Sounds pretty good for a remake of a 2D game. Around what A Link Between World did. The big numbers will come with BotW2, but I don't think every Zelda game will magically overperform from now on.

While Konami's case is almost the exact opposite, bringing the first Bomberman game in ages and releasing Jikkyou Powerful Pro Yakyuu on a Nintendo platform after three years of absence. And if they decide to release another Momotarou Dentetsu game (and publish it themselves this time instead of licensing it to Nintendo), I'm sure their number will get another big boost.

I do think LA will sell better than it's 3DS port/remaster comparables. Got a feeling the Zelda brand had a bit of jump after BotW.

But I guess we wont find out until some time due to vouchers.

It's the old SKU. It's got a 3k yen discount, so that's probably why it's leading the leading sku at the moment.

Last months of 2019 will be a repeat of 2018 for western AAA releases, only Call of Duty will pull big numbers. The good thing for PS4 is that unlike last year there are some sizable Japanese releases this time.

2 months from release Death Stranding remains at shallow waters, Gamescom did nothing.

How are DQXI S preorders progressing? I saw that on Amazon Japan the game has been on a steep upwards trend since Gamescom.
