well that should be Switch's lowest hardware number for a long long time.

Oninaki seemed like a smaller game that would skew digital, so that seems pretty good to me.

Lost Sphear did 7.269 on PS4 and 6.562 on Switch FW. Oninaki did better but are those numbers enough to justify Tokyo RPG Factory running?

SMM2 is stll well ahead, despite post-Obon drops equalising the playing field again. Holidays will be a big test, with the Lite having launched and potentially pulling in tons of new players who might want to play SMM2.

I wouldn't expect anything spectacular. The game is very expensive physically in Japan and we have been seeing it high on the eShop charts which means that it could be affected by the Voucher program like Fire Emblem. I'm hoping it does better than Bayonetta 2 on Wii U... that had a 50k LTD.

Oninaki did a bit under half of Setsuna, but double of Lost Sphear. Seems like a decent result for a very niche game to me, especially since they lost some trust with some poor reception to their games.

Serious post (in which case no biggie, we all err sometimes) or joke post? (I suspect the latter, but in case you were serious, Oninaki can't be a voucher game since it is not published by Nintendo)

I don't expect much from Astral Chain at all. Preorders seem very tepid from what little I can discern, and it seems like a game that's not very well-received in Japan typically. Anything over 30k would surprise me, and my guess would be 20k.

Here's hoping it does a Nier Automata, though!

Is it tho? I mean, I guess good that it doubled LS but like... those numbers still look dire. And Oninaki looked comparatively higher budget than Setsuna and Lost Sphear just by virtue of looking far better. Has SE ever revealed WW numbers for IaS and LS LTD?

Fire Emblem 3H should be around 250k by the end of September at retail. When Nintendo shipments for Japan are released I'm expecting around 500k for the region.

Switch should see a sizable bump next week but since new models came out almost without warning, numbers will remain high until Lite launch.

Are Nintendo making a big deal out of the new model with adverts and stuff or is this more of a stealth release only the hardcore will take notice of?

I wouldn't be suprised if Switch sales are w36 > w35

The same happened with the coupon bunble, biggest boost happened the following week.

Considering the market in Japan, I think the game doesn't have a bad start. It's more than the average Compile Heart game, or only 6k less than the last Atelier.
