Kinda surprised by snk thought it wouldve been more on switch considering that marketing deal Nintendo has. Or is that deal just for the west?

Yeah, that surprises me too. The PS4 version sold almost twice as many copies. Guess the PS4 demographic better suits this game??
There's no physical release for the PS4 version in the west but there was for Japan. Put two and two together.
West/NISA only. In Japan SNK selfpublished it and PS4 version got a full release.
How did KOFXIV do in comparison?
Valkyria came out in March in Japan, unless you are only talking about Switch port

It's on UE4 now so hopefully it will run better than how SNK Heroines is on Switch if it were to be ported.

Considering that Switch actually doesn't have a single retail party game outside of 1,2,Switch (which doesn't quite fill the same niche), I reckon you might actually be surprised...
SNK would've been the one hiring Abstraction rather than NISA. This isn't really a Ys VIII situation.
The move to UE4 will hopefully facilitate things though.
It's a toss up. Smash will do better in North America and much better in Japan. Spidey obviously has Europe on lock.
I think a lot of people will be surprised by Smash numbers in a bad way. It won't be even close to God of War's.
However, it will do insanely well in Japan

Benji is predicting it to be the biggest launch of any Nintendo console game ever. I don't think it's going to disappoint at all in the West.

Smash will probabily sell over 10 million this year. I think Spiderman has a chance but is gonna be hard.

That ignores the fact that SNK was the one to make the call for SNK Heroines, not NISA. NISA will just publish the game, but won't have anything to do with it beyond localization (if they did that for KoF and Heroines)
I obviously wasn't talking about beating God of War's overall sales, I was referring to GOW's initial sales. Since excepting Smash to compete against Spidey's first week is just unrealistic.

Looking at CY2017 first week numbers makes me think that although having a 100K+ first week (even on PS4) is a bit more elusive, isn't some mystical occurrence. It seems right in line with openings for HZD and most other large budget Sony titles.

If that's the best case scenario better don't post the worst.
You know Brawl sold 2.7 million in America alone in it's launch month right? Smash Ultimate will crush God of War's first month sales.
I'm pretty sure SNK handles everything with ports and localization themselves. NISA is just their publishing partner, like Atlus USA used to be.
At least that's the case for their fighters, I'm not sure about the 40th Anniversary Collection. I'm pretty sure it only exists because Hamster sold around a million NeoGeo roms on Switch though.
Smash is going to open over 1m in just Japan.
Its week 1 is going to be well over 5m

10m shipment first day is closer to reality than 10m for the entire December.
