I think people really underestimate the power of the worldwide PC market, especially when you don't butcher the launch and actually advertise your game.

I think the drop from Berseria in Japan is somewhat expected. Funny seeing a PS5 title selling even 50k launch week though lol

Yes, and the series has yet to reach that sales height historically. Will be dependent on whether enough new buyers and old tales consumers purchase imo.

As I was saying, rise of digital sales (even slightly since 5 years ago) + digital only releases for pc(many reviews in JP on steam)/ps5 digital/xbox(dominating the best selling rankings on that store right now) should make up those 30k.. it's pretty much at the same level.

What hype, this was the expected opening for everything and Tales was supposed to be the PS title with the best hold comparing to what is following.

The Tales series specifically has fairly poor legs. It's possible this entry is somewhat different, but even then there's a limit on JRPGs to an extent. Like Even Persona 5 for all the hype it got never left the 3 millions pre-Royal.

Yes, it'll probably have a large drop next week, it may sell near 3 million after some price drops though, but then again, JRPGs don't usually have big legs, even with price drops.
