For comparison:

01./00. [PS4] Call of Duty: WWII # <ACT> (Sony Interactive Entertainment) {2017.11.03} (¥7.900) - 168.324 / NEW

YSO seems to be expecting a slight increase YoY for CoD, which would be a great performance considering how well WWII did.

The Blackout beta did a lot of good for CoD, preorders have significantly increased since then.

I said it earlier but it could be a nice surprise for the PS4 this year if the BR mode gives it good legs.

Luigi's Mansion and Kirby Epic Yarn are the last 3DS games that have a (slim) chance to become million seller on 3DS due to the strong brand name attached to them.
They have everyting against them though (3DS SW market is already collapsing).
Kirby doesn't have a chance but I remain cautiously optimistic for Luigi's Mansion (down)port. Luigi's Mansion 2 has sold almost 6m so far and Luigi's Mansion 3 is coming, there must be some fans that want to see the first entry. Even if it will take more than this FY we could see the game crossing 1m some time in the future.

As usually we greatly underestimated a big Sony first party title.

Including Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna ~ The Golden Country was a mistake, I didn't expect it would have such a low sales. I even considered not counting it for the results but in the end it was practically a non factor because we all got the same percentage error since it is capped at 150%.

On the positive side, our predictions for the remaining titles were pretty spot on.

That's really cool! Thanks for organising these Prediction Leagues, Bruno! :)

Spider-Man and Torna were pretty troubling factors. I was on the high end of the estimates for Spider-Man and on the low end of the estimates for Torna, so I guess that helped a lot. But seeing the estimates for Warriors Orochi, Sen 4, and FIFA 19, some of my self-confidence in the guessing game returns. :P

I'm a bit pessimistic about Luigi's Mansion. While the original game got a cult status nowadays and Luigi's general brand will sell for sure, I doubt it'll do exceptionally well. I've played the co-op mode in a hands-on session quite a while ago (there were previews) and I'd say the feature is pretty much negligible. And the 3DS as a platform isn't a spectacular unique selling point anymore of course.

There are a lot of people who bought Luigi's Mansion 2 and didn't the original. It's true that the target audience is a big, untapped one indeed. However, how many are still actively playing on 3DS? Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon has sold ~2.4 million copies so far, but aside from Pokémon, the sales of games that were released in the last 12 months have not been that high:

Youkai Watch Busters 2 at 500k
Mario Party at 173k
Kirby at 142k
Girls Mode at 120k
The rest is below 100k for now.

I still consider the Luigi's Mansion port as a minor release, similar to those other titles. I think it will go above 100k for sure (my guess is FW <40k). Maybe the holiday boost will be that big that it will reach 150k, but I think 200k is a stretch too far, considering the results of these other games, which I think have more or less the same sales potential.

Inspired by both the great work that silpheed-mcd keeps on displaying in keeping track of new and old Switch games sales' for each tracker and the recent talk about debuts and legs on the system, I've decided to creat my own version of Switch rankings for each tracker, with a different format that includes both the first weeks and the first week / LTD ratios for each game: with the help of both these elements, we can get a better idea of sales patterns on the platform. If possible, I'd like to update these charts weekly.

Note: data come from Media Create Weekly Sales / Top 1000 2017; Famitsu Weekly Sales / H1 Top 100; Dengeki Weekly Sales, thanks to the hard work from hiska-kun ; Chris1964 ; ZSaberLink and silpheed-mcd

Super Mario Party really could be the biggest lauch yet for a Switch game this fiscal year (Mario Tennis is still first, even though Octopath might be with digital included), and the second of the year (behind Kirby).

silpheed-mcd ComG! chart showed a lot of family friendly games (Minecraft, WarioWare Gold, Kirby...) gaining traction so we might enter in a period of the year when more and more consummers are family, casuals, mainstream players.

whatever Nintendo makes, third parties don't seem to think it's worth attempting. either because they may not think they can get Nintendo numbers (though that never stopped monhun clones) or they're too focused on the west and systems where these types of games don't do too well (because no one really makes them in high quality or marketing)

Three Houses will likely feature a similar concept (hence the name), but will just be the one game; rather than three.

The Japanese name doesn't push a number like that forward though. Besides, regarding Fates, In spite of selling the campaigns separately, IS could barely bother with balancing Revelations, I doubt they'll do something like that in a single base game. They even seemed to fear route exclusive characters considering how they just threw everyone into Revelations rather than attempting to keep any kind of third version split.

If there are path splits, they'll be likely similar to the ones in Sacred Stones, where only a couple of chapters are completely different and most of the game just has a few different enemies and some changed dialogue.

You would hope there would be at least a little bump. This is probably the biggest release from Nintendo so far this year. The switch seems to stay pretty steady with only small bumps but hopefully it can push close to 50K with Mario party.

It's hard to not remember when you're saying something like Fates disgusts you, but you were quoted like 20 times in that thread for telling people that they couldn't blame a game for hiring a homophobic war crime denier as its composer.

nvm I think it had to do with the DQXI mess, don't even bother replying if you not only misunderstood me, but you STILL remember it, despite being a comment by a complete stranger on a forum months ago

Is not hard to remember someone who has shown to be a hypocrite in various threads, including that one.

It's hard to not remember when you're saying something like Fates disgusts you, but you were quoted like 20 times in that thread for telling people that they couldn't blame a game for hiring a homophobic war crime denier as its composer.

Not in this thread, okay? You can misunderstand and call me names behind my back like that post all you want somewhere else. But let's not, not here

I'm just surprised you enacted a derail for a game that hasn't charted in years.

Anyways, it's safe to assume the Mario Party Switch bundle on MyNintendo's store isn't gonna be logged in any trackers?

Week 41, 2018 (Oct 8- Oct 14)

01. [PS4] Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII < 190k (average 180k) [week 1]
02. [NSW] Super Mario Party < 50k (average 40k) [week 2]
03. [PS4] Assassin's Creed: Odyssey < 20k (average 15k) [week 2]

So i was right when i said COD could have been closer to 200K instead of 150K first week.

Tell me how every FE game panders to otaku, preferably one by one. I've played them all and I don't remember, so I'm interested.
I won't do anything "one by one". The FE series was literally created in response to the underwhelming sales the Famicom Wars games got, Intelligent Systems evaluated what was the problem, why players couldn't get into the series and they pinpointed it as lack of attachment to the units and characters. FE was made from the start aping other popular works at the time (mostly Dragon Quest) and the first game is already "otaku pandering" in the sense that it follows the aesthetics of the animanga industry of the time and some of its tropes, the first set of games already has stuff that would be considered otaku pandering like Tiki:

21.PNG

Dialogues like this are present in FE since the beginning, with "onii-chan" and everything. FE4~5 are very influenced by Lodoss War too, etc. FE always goes for stories and tones similar to popular "otaku" media at the time.

---

Anyway, most important is that this is a sales thread first and foremost. If I posted my personal feelings about every game that sells well and I don't like, this would basically be the only thing I talk about in this thread.

I'm tempted to bring up Jesus if people will bring politics into this.

Anyways, back to sales. How much do you think the Switch will sell this week in the light of Super Mario Party's promising numbers?

Maybe a small boost to around 60k but that's about it. The REAL boosts will come when Pokemon comes out. I just don't see SMP pushing a large amount of hardware, but who knows! I feel if it would have, we'd know by now from insiders/stores and whatnot.

Detailed store comments typically don't come until GEO reveal their weekly ranking, though. Any comment would be from there or from the blog leaker, both of which haven't come out yet.

As for the predicted hardware boost, I'm thinking a mild boost to around 50k the past week. It's hard to find a hardware boost for Mario party games in the history, so I doubt the sales will be above 50k. I do think there will be a small boost, since this is the first Mario Party game on the Switch and, more importantly, only the second major party game (the first being 1-2-Switch, which isn't as major as this game).

I see "onii-chan", but where is "everything"? Does she imply she wants to fuck the protagonist like the little sister character in Fates does? Also, I hope you are not suggesting that every manga and light novel is "otaku" media cuz we both know that's not true. Having a light tone and anime aesthetic doesn't mean it has to be filled with waifu bullshit. FE has never been no Tactics Ogre, but it wasn't about molesting your team members either.

You can point out how improper it is to derail a sales thread with personal game opinion without making disengenuous argument.
