Fire Emblem will be an interesting one to watch due to the 3DS significantly growing the audience, Heroes being a great success, and Switch having better momentum in the west than the 3DS did. Breaking 3m shipments will still be a tough task though.

Even in Japan....

06./01. [PS4] Marvel's Spider-Man # <ADV> (Sony Interactive Entertainment) {2018.09.07} (¥6.900) - 22.751 / 266.802 (-40%)

:thinkingemoji:

I didn't say it didn't sell well, I said that I cannot understand the interest, as in it does not look appealing to me. I am not speaking on behalf of Japan, this is my own personal judgement. Am I not allowed to have those?

That said, if they had been released the same day in Japan, how would that have turned out?

I can't help but compare how we already knew about octopath passing a million by this time but SE has been quiet unusually so about DQ11, i know its not a worldwide release but that never stopped a #humblebrag before from someone
I believe they shipped 1M units for PS4, but the sell rate of the game was low so they don't expect any more shipments. Announcing 1M units shipped, but have them all stick on the store shelves ain't a good look

Google translate:
Switch 'Super Mario Party' first debuted for the first time. Aside from popularity of software, Joy-Con peripheral equipment sales are about three times as much as regular weekly, etc. We are showing the unique movements of the party game. Our limited water-bottled product is also popular. PS4 "Assassin's Creed Odyssey" ranked second in rank. Although this is the initial movement of about 90% in the previous work ratio, because the reputation from the purchaser is good, it can expect also the sale after the next week. In other new work PS 4 / Switch "Rockman 11 Fate of Gear !!" ranks 6th and 7th. (Buyer Mr. Takashi Muto Media Section 2 Department Media Department, Geo-Media Corporation)

Whats not to understand? You play as one of the world's most popular superhero who can climb walls, has some strength, agillity and can swing around New York.

So, less than Origin (90% of origin) but some legs?

Triple Deluxe is comfortably over 2m, numbers are very outdated and it got a budget release in 2017. Planet Robopot got a hit from releasing late at 3DS life but won't end far from 2m either.

Okay thanks Chris.

I remember that you said that retailers were taking preorders for the Pokemon/Smash bundles without Nintendo telling them to stop. I noticed that the Pikachu Switch bundle went out of stock in Amazon a few days back.

Is it because Nintendo finally put a ceiling on these preorders ?

Great for Koei Tecmo !

I was a little concerned for them this fiscal year but HW and Warriors Orochi seem to have done very well !

Isn't this the same everytime KT releases results?

They seem to do well enough everytime. Probably don't have crazy expectations for most of their stuff (example is the sellthrough of Orochi 4 being high on both PS4 and Switch even though the numbers are very different).

For you example, it says more on the retailers expectations than KT's.

HW and FEW did a lot of good for them these last years. Dynasty Warriors bombed hard so it is nice to see that they somewhat recovered from it.

It's like Dynasty Warriors never happened! ;)

A shame they do not provide updated sales data for HW.
Probably because Nintendo does publishing elsewhere, but it seems TK gets a nice cut if they can report increased income. Guess the best way to fight moose-y fatigue is to add an ip people give more of a shit about. Pokemon Warriors next? (Or Conquest 2)

The bundle is still available at other retailers, amazon might have reached its limit for first wave.

Looks like Fitness Boxing is not a worldwide simultaneous release.

Japan gets it on December 20th. NoA is the outlier here.

So far, it seems that titles published and developed by Nintendo get worldwide simultaneous releases, while titles developed by external parties and published by Nintendo in specific territories get different release dates per region. That was the case for Fire Emblem Warriors, Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle, Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition, and now Fitness Boxing. I assume it'll be the same for Daemon x Machina.

With how many times they did a WiiU-> 3DS and WiiU->Switch ports they almost surely have some shared libraries. I don't think it is anything as robust as KT's publish on Switch button however. Messing around with old Wii and DS games they are almost certainly cleaning up code and making it compatible with currently used frameworks.
Wii U -> Switch: up port
Wii -> Switch: remaster
3DS -> Switch: remake

The only 3DS game that appeared to Switch is Sushi Striker and that's because Nintendo tried to save it from being a complete bomb.

Good that Hyrule warriors did better than they thought in the west.
wonder if that means it can reach 1m shipped. Rankings did seem low in Europe and US.

People said the same thing about Fire Emblem Warriors and it sold over 1m (Switch + 3DS) in its first fiscal year. Hyrule Warriors shouldn't have troubles to sell additionnal copies with the big Holiday rush.

FEW did 1M? Uh, completely missed that for some reason.
I guess KT didn't expect a third version of a game to sell as if it was a first version maybe? HW was a better game than FEW imo anyway.

Let's take a look at Marvelous' current Switch line-up:

Fate/Extella
Senran Kagura Reflexions
Assault Gunners HD
Little Dragon's Cafe (published in JP only, mainly an Aksys game)
Dragon Marked for Death (has an unknown involvement, likely through their Hakama division headed by Yoshifumi Hashimoto)
Peach Ball: Senran Kagura
Fate/Extella LINK
Daemon X Machina
Sengoku Night Blood (an otome game that's mainly by Idea Factory)

6 own games with three being related in some form.

Still needs work.
