That is a spectacular debut for DQXIS
It did have the bundle with the OG.
Retail + Digital. The numbers here are only retail, don't forget that.
[PSV] Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana (Falcom, 07/21/16) – 43,753 (New)
PSV + PS4 (the PS4 release being a year later) first week was 60k. So like, a decline if you look at it like that, but no reason to make numbers up.
Digital sales (as of September 29th) + shipments (as of September 30th).
Woah woah woah!!! DQXI did so well, wasn't expecting over 300k. Atelier, code vein, and ys all did about as well as we expected; pretty great for atelier and okay for the other two.
Switch HW... what goes on. I get switch OG being that high with the bundle I guess, but I'm a bit worried about the drop the lite has experienced. Regardless, 196k is a fantastic number and way better than I expected.

1.13M on 3DS and 950k on PS4.
How so? It sold around exactly as much as Ys VIII and Memories of Celceta.

VIII was on vita too. It means the audience of the IP overall declined.
To be fair DQ moving away from Switch was very unlikely even before these numbers hit.
The went above and beyond with the S Version because a large part of their audience will be on Switch.
Yep. The difference wasn't much actually, but I try to use same tracker for comparison purposes.
VIII was only on Vita. The PS4 version was released later.
Frankly the numbers are amazing.
If it Switch hardware holds above 100k after the increase in VAT next week then I am expecting huge numbers during the Holidays.

I think before, the demand will slow of course after the recent releases (and tax increase) but it still might be somewhere around the ballpark of 75-100k a week.

Code Vein sold less than half of God Eater 3 FW, which itself was dissapointing sales wise
That's once again another failed experiment by Bamco in Japan, they didn't get the GE audience nor the Souls audience in the end, it really felt like it was written on the wall since the reveal but after numerous delays I thought they would be able to make the product more appealing, that doesn't seem to be the case, too bad.
Maybe its fate will be determined by sales outside Japan, but even there the outlook doesn't seem that good (?)

It still looks like a Vita game. There's no reason to expect to sell much better.
When Ys VIII released it was only on one platform (Vita). When Ys IX released it was only on one platform (PS4). There's no reason to expect it to sell much better by any sort of rational thought.
The Lite drop is pretty normal, the 3DS XL went from 187k to 82k, the Lite will keep droping before stabilizing hopefully at around 30k or something.

Ah yes the dream of every 3rd party. No growth whatsoever. They were right to ignore the most popular platform in Japan.
I guess we have to thank the Japanese government for these insane numbers. Next week will be a bloodbath in terms of drop percentages.
Not in Japan. Switch version bombed there. I'm sure NIS will comission a port when NISA localizes the game because Ys VIII sold very well on the system (as many others of their games have).
