i was comparing to dq and if mh isn't bigger than splatoon, they're quite comparably even popularity-wiseI won't be so sure about MH being bigger than Splatoon in Japan.

??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????Cuz SMTV looks like a direct follow up to Nocturne while P5 is just P3 again.
Maybe I can start portbegging for Project Octopath, The World Ends With You Remix, SMTV and Ace Attorney for PS4 so that I can have an option to collect them trophies? :P
Not sure if I follow. SFIII was on PS2 and Dreamcast. While SFIV looks more similar to SFIII than SFII.
You say that as if there hasn't been port begging for all of them. Even USF2 had port beggers.

Kimishima was right when they wanted people to think as Switch as a "mobile", rather than 1 per household (or the Watercooler approach, XB and PS are doing) Switch is more 1 per person, several per household
Surprisingly high price considering the trailer for the game. Guess I'll have to try and keep an open mind.Usotsuki Hime to Momoku Ouji out on May 31st, 6 980 Yen / 5 900 Yen for PS4/Switch and PSV respectively.

Now we need sale comparison between each game. I have a very vague memory that the best selling MH game outsold the best selling DQ game in japan.
The number one selling MH is Portable 3rd at 10th place with 4.7, right between Brain Training at 5.1 and New Super Mario Bros Wii at 4.6.Now we need sale comparison between each game. I have a very vague memory that the best selling MH game outsold the best selling DQ game in japan.
It's most likely going to be Animal Crossing for 3DS, it is at 12th place with about 4.5 million sold. At its current rate, if a new Animal crossing doesn't come out, it should get there by fall.Splatoon 2 or Animal Crossing are going to kick MHP3rd out if the top 10 :p

In Japan alone? I guess that would put it somewhere around 9th or 10th place. My numbers are a bit old and Famitsu.
New Leaf is around 5,2-5,3m in Japan right now.In Japan alone? I guess that would put it somewhere around 9th or 10th place. My numbers are a bit old and Famitsu.
That's with "welcome amiibo" edition right?
In terms of absolute peak sales on consoles, MH has sold more at peak indeed. But I wasn't basing it purely on the size of the console market since DQ launches once per blue moon in which case, its basically impossible to compare the two on a straight pass.

I'm fully expecting an all Nintendo top 20 down the lineAccording to Famitsu, it already is.

Looking at this, looks like Splatoon 2 has a good chance of breaking the TOP 5. :D
Splatoon 2 and Animal crossig switch will get there. Labo is a wild card, we'll see for the restYou expect 10 games on Nintendo consoles to surpass 4.84 million? This is not gonna happen anytime soon, imo... maybe next gen.
it shows how weak the 3ds was outside Japan imo, previous entries did much more on the nds and wii wwAll Editions, full price, budget and amiibo.
Almost half sales of New Leaf came from Japan.
so you expect it to leg it to near 6m at least?it will make the game the best selling console game ever you knowLooking at this, looks like Splatoon 2 has a good chance of breaking the TOP 5. :D
This would be very unNintendoishWait why are we predicting Splatoon 2 to break 5 million? It has a long, long way to go.
Nintendo could announce and release Splatoon 3 before it even sniffs that number.

Splatoon 2 sales are more often than not related to teh switch supply at hand. I'm not expecting it to stay at 65%+ but in the end I can see it go for 30%Conservatively, if it sold at roughly its sales from this week continually, it would take 2.25 years to break 5 million. Nintendo should have some form of Splatoon product out there in that time frame or they are missing out. Especially with a product targeted at kids you run the risk of getting replaced fast if you don't stay relevant.
Anyways regardless, I think Splatoon 2 has a cap of 4 to 4.5 million at most.

Dude, the game is already well over 2 million in not even 7 months. 5 million right now is looking like a conservate prediction, i mean, you do realize that weekly numbers right now are repressed by super low Switch stock, and that every christmas of every years of Switch life this game will get super big boosts?
And why you think Nintendo will release Splatoon 3 this generation? I mean, if they do then the second could sell under that, but i just don't see they releasing a new Splatoon game this gen. They will release Splatoon spin off, of course, but that's it.

I'm fully expecting Nintendo to create a "season 2" for Splatoon 2 starting in fall 2019 with a dlc season pass and a new retail release woth the new support path
Every one of these games was significantly above 2 million at the 7 month mark besides maybe the first Pokemon.
