Somewhere. I think.
Lite Animal Crossing bundle will be saved for summer holidays or Christmas season.

Yeah, I'd be surprised if they didn't have one for those, given Furukawa's comments about not fully satisfying sales for the Lite.

It's funny how 1st place and 20th place swapped places on the eShop this week.

By the way, is it normal for a title in first place to fall that much in digital rankings over a single week?

Yes, for niche titles where people buying them do so during launch week (generally launch weekend + pre-orders).

TMS was helped by the eShop charts, which run from Thursday to Wednesday (instead of Monday to Sunday, because eShop updates on Thursday in Japan), since it was released on Friday, it had a nearly full week of sales.

Shipment for Japan this quarter will be at least half million and could go 100-200k higher from there with building hype from Animal Crossing. Nintendo played it really safe with forecast, it's very likely they'll exceed the revised one.

"The Taiwan list has the same game on top as Japan, Yakuza 7 and Dragon Ball Z Kakarot next. Yakuza 7 changed to a new protagonist and RPG gameplay. Originally there were a lot of uneasy voices, but after release it received unanimous praise, for the successful innovation. Dragon Ball Z Kakarot, also an RPG, have good feelings among intergenerational people.
Ring Fit Adventure, which is very suitable for stretching during Lunar New Year, took the third place. Pokemon Sword / Shield retreated to fourth place its tenth week in the market. Finally, Romance of the Three Kingdoms 14, the old strategy simulation game, took the fifth place but the word of mouth is a bit subtle.

The Korean ranking is a bit different than Japan and Taiwan. While Yakuza 7 and Dragon Ball Z Kakarot came 3rd and 4th, their popularity is a little bit worse. The first spot is for Ring Fit Adventure, which has been selling hot since launch. Pokemon Sword / Shield is second this time, but has been first for several weeks.
The last game of the list is Minecraft, which received a retail version this week."

Animal Crossing bundle isn't limited, how much it will sell at first week depends on how big initial shipment Nintendo can provide.

Can you explain me that?
Euro is more worth than Dollar, so I'm confused. It's probably a dumb question, but it is what it is.

It has more to do with trend. Nintendo anchors prices on USD and yen as far as I can tell. If the Euro/Pound is weakening against these 2 currencies Nintendo has to raise prices in Euro/Pound to maintain the ratios of relatively standard pricing worldwide. The average European just knows it costs more to them in their terms but also knows he/she isn't really earning more to make up for it. Hence "extras" in UK and Europe.

Smash and Let's Go bundles had limited prints because you saved money. Same with Mario Party Joy Con bundles.

As it looks Nintendo will have a marketing campaign for Animal Crossing similar to Splatoon, Smash Bros and Pokemon at size. Some stores have already received promotion material.

Does Animal Crossing have local multiplayer? Like, two people each with a joycon in just one Switch

That would explain that it is not Lite.

Thanks ZSaberLink - always appreciated, and far easier than trying to use Google Translate on the actual Dengeki page :)

From the Media Create CY 2017 sales:

584./253. [WIU] Tokyo Mirage Session FE # <RPG> (Nintendo) {2015.12.26} (¥6.700) - 3.417 / 55.387 (-82%) (26.340 <48,16%>)

It'll be interesting to see if Switch can help the re-release leg it out to above that total.

I doubt it with only physical sales. But it'll surely do it with digital. Sadly we'll probably never know.

This is just me randomly thinking out loud, but I wonder if the push for Yakuza and Final Fantasy on Gamepass will be accompanied by Gamepass finally launching in Japan. Like it obviously wouldn't be a very big push number wise. But would probably get it up to at least when Sakurai talked about Banjo.....maybe.

Prediction: Dragon Quest 12 will launch exclusively on Square's streaming service that they'll launch a few months before the release of DQ12.

Dragon Quest is like the only series that would do well in a streaming era and Square's back catalog would work really well with streaming also. Streaming cost will be $12 a month without FF14 but you can bundle the streaming service and FF14 sub together for $20 a month.

My boldest prediction.

Persona 5 Scramble is the next interesting thing I'm looking forward to. Sounds like we can expect a 2:1 split in favor of PS4? At least at launch.

Mystery Dungeon will also be fascinating to follow. With Switch software sales being as high as they are, I wonder how far that game will go.

Ratio is not comparable between platforms. However, using Chris comment :

Sinobi (Amazon data)

P5R has strong pre-orders, it should have good opening.

P5S had great start, pre-orders 6:4 in favour of PS4.
The only big multiplatform release this year that PS4 could have clear advantage, something close to 2:1, is Persona 5S.

Everything else that Switch doesn't lead will very close at sales.
Something between 3:2 and 2:1 is the expected outcome. A demo is coming this week so it is possible that the ratio moves a bit with it.

nintendo decides to port every wii u game under the sun including TMS but decides to skip on wonderful 101 even though theres already a fanbase for platinum games on the switch already?

wonderful 101 is one of the first original collaborations between nintendo and platinum so to skip on it kinda sucks, its probably the most deserving of all wii u under-performers that deserves a second chance and platinum games as a whole has been a decent replacement for capcom's lack of presence on nintendo home consoles since wii-u era and arguably since wii era, since capcom's wii support consistently mainly of spinoffs or ports, platinum has been more courageous with nintendo consoles to say the least

W101 was a horrendous bomb. Nintendo gave it plenty of promotion and spotlight, and it did terribly. I don't blame them in the slightest for not putting it out again- indeed, if the rumours are true, good on them for giving the IP to Platinum and letting them gauge interest themselves.

tms wasnt a horrendous bomb? I'd take w101 over it any day

switch audience fits better for w101 than wii u, I bet it'd outsell wii u version many times over if ported

It still sold a couple 100k. TMS is a much, much better game though.
I love Kamiya and Platinum games but W101 was super messy for one of their big budget games. There's just no market for a pretty hard, fixed camera angle, sentai-toy game with a weird input style and so so graphics.

It's still a battle of the bombs, but W101 was apparently the bigger one. Plus it doesn't have the advantage of being linked to a currently very successful and long-historied Nintendo IP like TMS does.
being attached to two successful brands and bombing that hard makes it the bigger failure

w101 at least has a good excuse in being a new ip and audience/platform mismatch, which should be resolved with a switch release, the same cant be said for tms
