Thinking about niche games, VNs, and the Switch just reminded me of something that I used to think about a lot but have had it pushed to the back of my thoughts awhile ago.

How come the Nonary Games never made it to Switch?

Honestly I agree, I think it can hit around 10M when all is said and done, maybe a bit more. I think 4-5M in Japan seems pretty likely at this stage, that leaves 5-6M for the west which isn't THAT crazy.

Do you mean MK8D? That's a very unique circumstance that I don't think we'll ever see again due to the colossal failure of the Wii U. The game basically didn't exist before the Switch.

Honestly, I feel this way about all the Wii U ports. Even if all 13m Wii U owners bought every single game that's been ported, 80-90% of Switch owners didn't have a Wii U.

The demo seemed to be well-received and so I'd be shocked if it didn't sell in the 4-5m range in Japan. If anything, I think we might be underselling the global thirst for Monster Hunter following the reception of MHW.

If that game runs smoothly/stably, it could be another huge hit.

They ported those games to PS4/Vita/PC right after the Switch launched and now they seemingly don't care to do it again.

I think it's an issue of some trackers having a week 53 and some having that as week 1.

I like this comparison but it's a little hard to follow because it doesn't say how much is being gained each week. So it's hard to tell how each week actually compares without doing the maths in your head.

It's an interesting thing. I'm not sure it'll match MHW but it looks set to easily surpass SSBU which bodes well for a big opening.

This week Smash Bros gained 15, MHW gained 71 and MHR gained 51 i think. MHR has been catching up to MHW.

Kirby star allies at 864k sell thru. Million seller

DQXIS did do 560k so with another 60k sell thru is at 620k retail and selling over 3k a week. I think we can see a million seller here as well

It is a lock imo since Switch software sales show grow significantly. Plus a game like MHR is more expensive than the usual Nintendo game.
