The price cut may plausibly have encouraged people who *would* have bought the baseline unit to instead hold on for a short while and go Pro instead. I wouldn't consider that particularly scary in isolation, but we'll know for certain next week!

Yeah that's true too.

Good opening for Super Mario Party.
Decent opening for assassin's creed odyssey.
Warriors orochi with a large drop; I wonder if it will reach 200k combined sales.
Weak opening for megaman 11.
Spider-Man climbing its way to 300k.

Switch hardware seeing an increase while ps4 seeing a decline.
An average week overall.

Those are bad sales for Mega Man 11, I bet Capcom didn't have super high hopes and North America is always the strongest market for Mega Man but still.

Yea, haven't been expecting much hw boost wise for switch a while now. Didn't here either.
Kind of waiting for a bundle or huge system seller at this point to see Some thing bigger

Good for smp

I think it just looks kind of ass visually. Like, extremely cheap, and not in a charming way in-game. Shame seeing Furyu keep losing, especially after Caligula Overdose was pretty damn good, but /shrug.
Oh well ¯\_(ツ)_/ ¯. Personally I like it's quirkiness and Imagawa's sprite art, also especially interested in Inoue's scenario work even though he is sadly not the director.

I guess people didn't post three hundred threads about astrotubot on Japanese forums

SMP did very well and better than what I expected (around 100k). It will also pick up steam during holidays.

Switch line-up is very heterogeneous so all games will sell well. Pokémon aims at kids, Smash at hardcore gamers and SMP at both.

Better second week for DBZ FighterZ, hope it will continue to sell...

[NSW] Dragon Ball FighterZ <FTG> (Bandai Namco Games) {2018.09.27} (¥6.800) - 8.186 / 31.388

[NSW] Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 for Nintendo Switch (Bandai Namco, 09/07/17) – 3.782 / 27.827

XV2 was supply constrained last year.

for a game like MM, I would think a higher than normal amount of people would buy it digital, just due to the type of game it is and it not being a full $60 game. Especially for switch I would think digital % would be pretty high.

Next week will be much better. I expect something near 30k.
It'll be interesting. PS4 Pro price drop combined with CoD release could do it. That said,
these are last year's CoD PS4 sales numbers:
Code:
| PS4 # | 28.823 | 24.653 | 32.041 | 1.413.520 | 1.153.124 | 5.514.187 |
The bump from CoD wasn't too big, a 4k jump was noted. It'll be interesting to see if 30k is attainable.

4k only? Well, this tim3 is a little different because theres a price drop too. Im pretty sure it will be near 30k.

Looks like Sony are cleaning up all their big weaknesses ahead of PS5. Presuming at least PS4 BC at this point.

Weird that the megaman collection sold more on PS4 but the actual New game sold less.
Nice debut for Mario Party, hopefully keeps selling with that joy con bundle out next month

Splatoon is also back in the top 10

There was the virtual console. Many Nintendo fans already own classic Mega Man games on the virtual console. There is no need to rebuy them again and again when you already own them on Wii, Wii U and/or 3DS.

Imagine the Level 5 delays were already discussed.
YW4 did look really good, but ran too poorly to come out this year, spring 2019 isn't too bad but that's if it doesn't get delayed again

Mario Party will go for the million with that opening. Holidays will boost sales and grow word of mouth. It looks like a quality entry.

People will eat the Super Mario Party Joycon bundle in December. It is excellent value and there is a lot of interest surrounding SMP.

Western games don't give hardware boosts without bundles, Call of Duty won't either.

lol @ PS4

Anyways, its a shame that FireEmblem or Yoshi is not one of this falls offerings to bolster the Switch lineup

Super Mario Party is doing well. I expect it to stay on the list for a long time.

Dragon Ball Fighterz had a better second week than Xenoverse 2 did last year, so that's a good sign.

Note, Xenoverse 2 struggled with supply constraints. I remember Bamco sending out tweets that stock was low and their shipment was sold out after like two days. Seems like Bamco learned their lesson with FighterZ.

After all is said and done I suspect FighterZ will follow the same sales trajectory, maybe outsell Xenoverse 2. Although that might be a bit hard, I feel that Xenoverse 2 was a bit more popular than Fighter Z is.
