You don't think that Pikmin 3 DX will outsell the WiiU version or that, if it sells around 500k, Pikmin 4 has a shot at being a million-seller ?
I think Pikmin 3 DX might be able to outsell the original and maybe reach ~300k. Maybe.
If Pikmin 4 exists and releases next year, I don't think it'll get close to 1M, but it's hard to speculate about unknown factors. Hopefully I'm wrong, as I love this series, but I don't see it reaching such wide audience as it is.
I'm hoping the Coop aspect really pushes the game but we will see. First pikmin on the go but I'm going with 300k-400k but hoping for better

This guy is not always solid. His reporting cannot be taken as gospel.
If the caves turned you off the second game, know that they are gone from the third one. It also reintroduces a form of time limit - there is no day limit, but your food supply can run out if you don't gather enough fruit.
I recommend Pikmin 3 highly, but then I love all the Pikmin games. Well, the mainline ones anyway ;)

Thanks for this. I don't want to derail the thread too much but yeah, that's what I disliked about Pikmin 2 so I'm glad to hear it's fixed in 3. Maybe if more fans discover this it'll push the sales up for 4!

Its been a while since that happened cause there are several switch games that are also on ps4 that people tend to not know that there is also a ps4 version. but I tend to be informed nowadays but even that slipped by me.

I guess so. One of the game store over here (Thailand) did a special promotion where Mario 3D All -Stars was on sale for about 32 USD for a limited number of copies. (pretty much 50% off)
I mean, I'm not complaining. It's how I got the game. (It's not like I'm not willing to pay full price to begin with) But it definitely make you question how well it actually performed.

Always be cautious when you extrapolate sales from Comg preorders on two different platforms, the audience and therefore the ratio could be different.

The collection is riding a lot on nostalgia. Have those countries ever got 64, Sunshine and Galaxy?
From what I can find. Only Hong Kong got Mario 64 officially. Otherwise it's mostly through imports.
I didn't buy my copy at COMG because it was cheaper at Joshin with free shipping.

The difference won't be that big and I'm betting that the Switch version will leg it out. What's more important though is that I think the western performance will be heavily in favor of Switch.
Fortnite bundle launches in Japan on November 6th. Includes the Wild Cat bundle and 2000 V-bucks. Preorders open on October 31st.
Arguably the primary audience for the collection is pretty much the people who grew up with the games, as well as their kids. That's how it's being advertised here in Japan at least. As far as I know, the games never received official releases in any Asian countries except for Japan and China/HK (chiefly SM64 and via the iQue, which sold only around 10,000 units).
I was surprised to find so many people around my age and younger while living in Thailand who had no idea about Mario/Nintendo despite being into games. They totally missed the opportunity to capture what are now massive emerging gaming markets. The movie might help a bit though.
