I'm not well informed about the typhoon in Japan, was it that bad? I heard they didn't cancel the Formula 1 Grand Prix, maybe it was celebrated in a zone that wasn't affected?

Good numbers for Tsum Tsum

YW1 was never expected to do big numbers. A newer entry just got released and YW1 is the worst entry in the franchise. The porting was unnecessary. A porting of YW3 early on Switch would have done better numbers and bring some audience there.

Level 5 tried again, but it's time to let go of Yokai Watch, they effectively managed to kill any interest in this IP.
Oh, I guess there is still that PS4 release coming, huh.

YW4 is going to sell 350k+ when it's all said and done. Why should they kill the franchise which, by the way, still has some revenues from merchandising?

Link's Awakening is only at 212k total? That seems low but I'm not sure what other 2d Zeldas have sold (and I know it's a remake).

2 years ago i thought the PS4 would sail past the PS3 LTD with ease and maybe hit 11 mill LTD if not a bit more but looking at those numbers and PS4 might not hit the PS3 LTD which was around 10 mill from what i remember
If the LTD is 11 million it wouldn't be sail past with ease, the PS4 is still ahead launch aligned and the PS5 won't come until next year, is going to be close but the PS4 still has a very good chance, specially if FF VII is as big as it should be.

Was expecting a worse scenario.
For what it is, I think thats a decent number for YK1, the good thing is that PS4 and Asia will save it.

Switch HW is rather on the low end of my expectations, but given the circumstances it's not that bad.

Forgive my ignorance but ive never understood why people were so certain that SMM2 will sell more than 1 million and outsell SMM on Wii U. Is that still the case? I know Christmas is coming but there's so much competition with current games (Kart and Minecraft are already outselling it, won't be long before other evergreens do too, like Smash), and it will also have Luigis Mansion 3, Pokemon Sword and shield, and Mario and Sonic at Tokyo Olympics to compete with too.

The circuit was near Nagoya, central Japan. That area wasn't affected.

It was, they cancelled everything on Saturday (Free Practice 3 and Quali) and had to do the quali on Sunday morning instead, there were gust of winds that probably played a part in two drivers crashing early on (Kubica and Magnussen)
Sunday afternoon was completely fine and race was dry.

Nintendo evergreens titles sell that way, every single christmas is the same story.

Vouchers hit hard every single Nintendo game released since then. We'll get a better picture of the estimated digital share in two weeks.

I always felt that SMM2 was dropping a little harder. Kart and Minecraft crept up on it, next will be Smash. I don't think it'll be long before BotW starts to outsell it.

Wait for the holiday season and then come back, you are welcome. :)

Legs. Especially under holidays.

Look at how much Nintendo evergreens sold last year's Week 51 (one of the biggest week of the year in terms of software sold):

05./04. [NSW] Pokemon: Let's Go, Pikachu! / Let's Go, Eevee! # <RPG> (Pokemon Co.) {2018.11.16} (¥5.980) - 126.312 / 1.195.330 <80-100%> (+31%)
07./06. [NSW] Mario Kart 8 Deluxe <RCE> (Nintendo) {2017.04.28} (¥5.980) - 49.924 / 1.984.545 <80-100%> (+57%)
08./08. [NSW] Splatoon 2 # <ACT> (Nintendo) {2017.07.21} (¥5.980) - 40.809 / 2.843.134 <80-100%> (+56%)
11./09. [NSW] Super Mario Odyssey # <ACT> (Nintendo) {2017.10.27} (¥5.980) - 21.116 / 1.888.651 <80-100%> (+56%)
14./12. [NSW] Kirby Star Allies <ACT> (Nintendo) {2018.03.16} (¥5.980) - 15.699 / 656.367 <80-100%> (+81%)

We need another yokai watch release this year. That'll do it.
I wonder what Level 5 will do further on with Yokai Watch. Will they continue even if they expect it sell on the same level as YW4? Snack World isnt too far off from what YW4 will end up selling (most likely), but will we see more from Snack World as well? A ~300k seller can still bring in some money indeed, as mentioned earlier in the the thread.

There aren't many things Level 5 can do anymore, only delay the inevitable.

Yo-kai Watch is sinking and they're sinking with it.

I dont think Level 5 will go bankrupt any time soon at least. I imagine that they've built up a good amount of money from their previous games and merchandize.

hopefully it's the first option, i like their style and i think under the right management they can still make good games. bamco would probably be a good fit.
Yep, definitely don't want to see Level 5 go completely under. Hopefully Megaton Musashi surprises in a good way. If not, I think Bandai Namco and Level 5 would be a good fit.

Long shot for this but we might be looking at a half million+ seller for RingFit Adventure.

This may be a long shot as well, but the way the game has captured the 1st place on Amazon.co.jp a with almost no drops from the top makes me think 100,000 for the first week might not be the ceiling after all.

SMM2 will sell 200K+ in December alone. It might outsell SMM on Wii U this year with digital and next year with only retail.
