Serious question, can the PS5 shakes things up in Japan, not for a week or two, I mean a serious shake up? Because seeing 7-9 Switch games on the top ten and like 22-26 of the top thirty is kinda boring. And I'm saying that as a Nintendo fan.

Amazon had various PS4 bundles for Prime Day with 1 or 2 free games. Only the GoT bundle sold out and charted quite high, the others were in stock until the deal was over and didn't chart high, some not even in the top 100. You can still find a remaining listing for the PS4 bundle with TLOU2 in stock (although at a higher price than the console alone now that the deal is over).

Not so long after release, no. But Sword and Shield is different from previous games, as it wasn't followed by another game the year after its release, and is getting faily substantial DLC, so legs are much better than your standard mainline game.

Of relevance here, FIFA 15 on Vita (which was actually FIFA 11 reskinned) sold 67k and was the best selling FIFA game on Vita by a country mile and outsold the other three combined (they each sold 15-20k each).

Most of that came from it being the last FIFA game on the handheld and also a budget price re-release, but still - seems like a similar situation here in that the people who want handheld FIFA just keep buying it no matter what.

I have a feeling that we will see less and less retail releases in Japan, further games that will land on PS5 won't have a big staying power. In terms of rankings, it will be a PS4 2.0.

I am just impressed at the insane ROI. I doubt that they needed to sell more than 10k copies to break even globally.
