Great to hear, all I've been hearing has been very positive.Word of mouth in Japan for Ring Fit is like an avalanche. Nintendo has found the next big thing after Splatoon.

Some free or paid DLC for additional campaign content would be a good idea, I think. Or New Game+. Anything to increase the longevity of the game so people don't just quit being active after reaching the credits roll.Word of mouth in Japan for Ring Fit is like an avalanche. It is incredible to see how this game came around. Announced a month in advance, and everyone was like "this is a nice little side project for Nintendo." Turns out it could be a top 10 lifetime sales release for the Switch, at least in Japan.
I think continuous updates would be a great idea. Free would do a lot of work. Some free or paid DLC for additional campaign content would be a good idea, I think. Or New Game+. Anything to increase the longevity of the game so people don't just quit being active after reaching the credits roll.

I wonder if it can pass well beyond our recently-found probable milestone (1 million) and do Splatoon-like numbers (that is, go over 2M). This is absolutely the most exciting game to watch in Japan so far.

Tbh according to Nintendo the adventure mode is meant to be played for 90 days at 30 minutes a day, it seems pretty intense after all. But yeah it would be nice to extend its longevity even past that. Some free or paid DLC for additional campaign content would be a good idea, I think. Or New Game+. The amount of content is impressive, but recurring content would be even beter.Tbh according to Nintendo the adventure mode is meant to be played for 90 days at 30 minutes a day, it seems pretty intense after all. But yeah it would be nice to extend its longevity even past that.
That reminds me: do you have any idea how Sword/Shield preorders stack up against previous mainline entries, for example Sun/Moon?Pre-orders for Sun / Moon far exceed those of Let's Go with 2 weeks to go and it remains to be seen what will happen with vouchers too.
What about an X/Y comparison since they both came out a little over 2.5 years after launch?Comparisons among different systems at different periods are difficult.
Ring Fit's success makes me believe Labo could have been a hit if handled better. It should have been a single $60-80 game with different cardboard kits sold separately for like $20-30.
Super Mario Maker 2 will likely sell over 2m, how much do you think Ring Fit will do.It'd be quite something if a new IP that came out of nowhere released a month after being announced outsold Super Mario Maker 2.
I guess a somewhat solid first week, but no legs afterwardsWonder how consumers will react to Death Stranding.
Because it's a lot (50 hours worth) of purposefully frustrating/difficult exploration back and forth to the same points with a ton of cutscenes at the beginning and end.
There... aren't many similar games to compare this to sales-wise.

Like an unexpected sequel cutting off legs or a war/natural disaster so horrifying that it cut off all commerce. Otherwise it is guaranteed. For Mario Maker 2 not hitting 2m in Japan many weird things must happen.
I don't think the two are remotely comparable. Ring Fit is an RPG with a unique hook around the input mechanics. Labo is barely even recognizable as a video game, it's more like a DIY toy kit. In fact yeah, I'd call Labo a toy, not a video game.
Labo could've had all of the kits in one pack, or all the best marketing in the world, the problem is that it still relied on a hours long time commitment to build the actual toy, and on top of that it relied on an audience who both enjoyed owning video game systems and also enjoyed building/playing with DIY toys.
Whereas Ring Fit is a video game on a video game system, with a unique hook around the input mechanics, with no hours long bar of entry.
This is not to say it was obvious how Labo would do, just that the two concepts aren't the least bit similar.
Ring Fit and Brain Training ars good hints for Nintendo's release schedule next year. Expect Switch Sports, Nintendogs and Tomodachi Life to make an appearance next year. Maybe Tomodachi will slip into 2021 with Anjmal Crossing but I expect a return of expanded audience games.
Tomodachi isnt dead, it sold like 6 million on 3DSObviously a joke post, but not really funny. Anyway BrainTraining is obviously an afterthought for Nintendo. Nintendogs is as dead as Tomodachi. I can see another release of a fitness game, like Fit Boxing or Ringfit, but perhaps if Ringfit really turns out to be the big success it now seems to be just an expansion for Ringfit.
Apparently Marvelous are happy with Daemon X Machina sales. The English source I saw was Nintendosoup so take it with a mountain of salt but apparently they mentioned it(and Rune Factory) in their financial report?

Nope. Marvelous reported good sales for RF4S and then said that DxM was "well-received" aka it's niche.
That was me, kinda.I remember that one dude in the topic was questioning why someone would want RPG/Adventure in fitness lmao. It made so much sense. The appeal was for us. It was for the Switch fanbase and a more casual audience. Good to see it doing well worldwide.
If they do make a sequel I'd like to see some levels that are a little bit more open so it's like a playground for you to workout like climbing up cliff and running up hills.
