Black Ops IIII on its way to become best selling COD ever in Japan (especially with digital included). Good for Switch hw. PS4 hw sales lowish but without promotions it's what it's. Would be nice if Sony would sometimes be as aggressive with PS4 promotions in Japan as in US. 19.990 yen spider-man bundle could do really well in Japan too.

Ooooh boy, Link has some fine legs. It's amazing how a single player game, in a series that is not that popular to begin with in Japan is selling so well. And it doesn't have ongoing post launch content anymore!

Looks like the 3rd big update being announced for Kirby Star Allies led to a nice boost in sales.

Also, worth pointing out that Zelda BOTW got that "Explorer's Edition" with the guidebook in Japan, which is why sales are up by so much this time. Super Mario Odyssey also got the same edition.

Indeed- the timing is very telling. I don't think they're gonna set the charts on fire straight away still but we're seeing clear evidence now of genuine excitement I feel.

October is a slow period in Japan besides a few big releases typically. You can see the effect in all of the evergreen titles on Switch. Sales naturally pick up moving into November and yes I am sure there are some people prepping for Pokemon.

Should be interesting next week. I have no idea where Let's Go or Switch hardware is going to fall. I think Let's Go could range from 600k to 1000k+ and Switch could range from 100k to 150k+.
