Some of us had said that until December everything will be clear for third party support and as it looks the 2 companies that still struggle with it are the the 2 that benefited more from Nintendo at last generation. Every other big one has shifted or rapidly shifting resources to it.

It does take a special type of ineptitude to bet against your own past successes, so with that in mind being unable to them readjust is just part of said ineptitude.

Incompetence, one could call it.

One might say that the companies that are still late to shift their ressources are the ones that struggled the more this gen.

Given how much Switch is selling in Japan and worldwide, investors will raise some doubts towards Capcom's lack of support. Investors will see this as a missed opportunity. At least other companies like Square can say they are working on a lot of big titles for it.

If you ignore sheer volume and go by Japanese 3rd parties announcing new, non-port Switch projects the list of major companies not announcing a new Switch project is a list of one.

There were always going to be companies that would stay "loyal" to the PS platforms no matter what. Whether it is smart or right decisions, they decide. Placing their games on Switch doesn't guarantee success.

Ok...I'd say 2 things.

One, the 1 or 2 companies I'm referring to have achieved a lot of success on Nintendo platform and don't have any inherent loyalty to PS platforms.

Two..the reality is most companies are placing games on Switch- making the holdouts that much more conspicuous.

Ok, one more point- No, placing a game on a platform doesn't guarantee success. That's a meaningless boilerplate statement you can literally say about any game franchise and any console. But when you have a system that is most likely going to be approaching 3.5-4M units sold in less than one calendar year and is still sold out- then you are taking a giant, giant risk by not moving to the platform, and again, the vast majority of companies have adjusted.

These continued late ports from Capcom at every system under the sun they believe there is an active audience are only attempts to find extra money because current games underperform. Their performance, good or bad, whatever that is, means almost nothing in the bigger picture.

The revelations collection is a bit weird since there are two mainline RE games Switch owners haven't played and they port one that's been on both last gen platforms and have the new one be a digital code.

They put effort into it...but it's a really boring choice. At least the control inputs for single joy con and motion controls and be applied to ports of their other titles.

Not sure what to think of MHXX exceeding their expectations. It's sold like 200k? So they expected pretty bad numbers from MH on Switch or did they think no one would buy their late/low effort port?

If your expectation is for the platform to be a failure, then you probably had very low expectations for software. Ergo, you also do not commit any other software but cheap ports.

This is all written in their actions, expectations were low (and off) for everything.

most likely the latter. I suspect they'd have much higher expectations if the game came out at the same time as teh 3DS version

It's a bummer. That they had to be rewarded for low effort cash grabs to change their mind (still nothing to indicate they have) also sucks.

That one company isn't known for making the smartest of choices, especially in the last decade.

Strange, so Xeno2 didn't improve upon anything in XenoX? XenoX had loads of problems in the UI with Tiny font and unreadable text. Not to mention the slog of going through the game for dozens of hours before even getting a Skell

doesn't neccesarily mean that.

Like, I think Odyssey is better than 3D World, but if I was a reviewer I'd give both a 9/10 with no hesitation. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The answer is no? Sorry, but I don't wanna play guessing games...
They were talking about how incompetent Capcom and Level 5 are and even right now, they still can't manage to shift their resources to develop softwares for the new console (and in case you don't know,Capcom and Level 5 are more than just that hunting game, btw). They bet against the system early on(which is kinda fair, depends on how you thought about the console),but the problem is,even when the switch proved itself to be such a popular system as it is right now, they still can't shift their resources to it,they just can't(especially Capcom in this case),it was mostly because of their incompetence and bad management.Their talk was never about monster hunter alone, never was, never is,please at least think before you jump straight into someone else's talk

This. Plus they didn't take advantage of the rise of mobile gaming. Their whole strategy is laughable, their games are underperforming and their mobile games are getting delayed over and over or have bombed.

Why is Attack on Titan 2 only on 3DS? Wasnt the previous game multiplatform?

It does take a special type of ineptitude to bet against your own past successes, so with that in mind being unable to them readjust is just part of said ineptitude.

Incompetence, one could call it.
How do we know that they arent able to reajust? Capcom didnt believe much in the Switch to begin with, they said that they have more games coming, what more can be said and done? Honest question. Is there really any need to keep brining up how incompetent they are? It will take time before we potentially see any changes.

The Switch is truly not only the Vita successor, but a successful system. I'm assuming this ensures all that lewd stuff is going to flock to the system now.
