I think Chris1964 is underestimating RingFit a bit. Of course it's anecdotal evidence but I see more and more people talking about the game without prior knowledge of Switch. It'll be big during holidays (it was sold out in many stores in Italy yesterday).
To add to that, on Amazon France it's #14 for the year and #3 for the month. Fnac (the other big online shop with big retail presence) list it as out of stock online and in store (the one close to my home at least). It's performing strong it seems.

Is it out of touch to think Ring fit could follow a similar sales curve to Wii Fit? I dunno. Will probably be a big seller in the new year.

There are several party games that will compete this December for sales on Switch.

Mario & Sonic
Disney Tsum Tsum
Fishing Spirits
Super Mario Party
This will be the order

Mario & Sonic
Fishing Spirits
Super Mario Party
Disney Tsum Tsum

Without big releases in holidays, sales of older games will benefit a lot. Super Mario Party sales depend heavily on how many Joy-Con bundles Nintendo will ship.

In unrelated Bamco speculation: Per Doctre81 Ridge Racer 8 for Switch was cancelled.

How can they expect good numbers for the PS4 release?

Well YW did well in some places like Spain and Italy, where PS4 is strong so the assumption is probably that the PS4 SKU would do add significant numbers there. Plus we're most talking about them partnering with the company that just put out the NNK remaster...

Oh, right. I was happy about that. Finally it's not stuck on the PS3, but it surely bombed / underperformed everywhere, like any other Level 5 game since...Yokai Watch 3?

Yup, I'm not sure how much the NNK Remaster was from Bamco though. The developers contracted were both studios Bandai Namco has worked with.

NNK was one of the few games still trapped on PS3, now we just need Nier remastered and we can MGS3salute.gif our PS3s.

Even if Brain Training sells 200k that's a very low number, nothing notable.

Media Create Sales Week 47, 2019 (18 Nov - 24 Nov)

Top 5

NSW - 5

"The Taiwan's list has one new release. The first spot was won by Pokemon Sword / Shield. Shenmue 3 is the new release and got the second place. The third and fourth game are well-known faces, the stablished Mario Kart 8 DX, and Mario & Sonic Tokyo 2020 that was released recently. Ring Fit Adventure came back to the top because the third batch of stock finally arrived. But the next wave of stock is said to have to wait until the end of the year or even early next year.

There are no new games in the Korean list this week. The top 5 are still won by Nintendo Switch games with small changes. Pokemon is 1st for second consecutive weeks, and Ring Fit Adventure and Luigi's Mansion 3 are 2nd and 3rd for three consecutive weeks. Zelda Breath of the Wild that was launched more than one year and a half ago has beaten Link's Awaking staying longer in the Top 5, ranking 4th this week. Lastly, Mario Kart 8 is magically back on the list."

do we have any expectations as to how the PS5 will be received in Taiwan and S.Korea?

I nailed the one for Disney Tsum Tusm.

Messed the rest, but with COD, and RFA overperforming it was reasonable.

Celine is in the "10m for Ring Fit" camp, is what that comment meant, as a reference to what Chris said about such expectations.
Ah ah yeah I thought it was easy to catch.

Mine, of course, is just a gut feeling based on my belief that RFA is a sound product that is a good fit for Switch target audience and that has a good synergy with an upcoming mega hit like Animal Crossing (the expansion of the female audience on NSW will benefit RFA sales).
At the same time I don't think that Labo and Brain Training fit well with the audience Nintendo targeted from the beginning for NSW.

So after this horrible 4th quarter for PS4 what is the LTD projected to be?

Is there enough old time FFVII fans holding out to give it respectable numbers next quarter. Or maybe a bunch of young ones curious about what all the hubbub is about.

Either way Sony needs to do something drastic or this will be the year some Japanese grade-schooler asks "Whats a PlayStation?"

I used to think the PS4 was a lock for 11 million LTD, but now I'm very skeptical it will beat the PS3. FF won't change the baseline and the PS5 being next year means this is the last holiday season where the PS4 is Sony's current console.

Imo PS4 will end a bit under 10 million.

I mean that late into the life cycle no currently announced game will push hardware so the only thing that could save the PS4 in Japan is a permanent price drop. And even then I don't know how big the effect would be.

Japan is C tier for Sony now.

Europe and NA is where they want to focus and even if they keep MH, DQ and FF going forward, is going to be really hard to sell PS5 when NSW is hot and the launch price is going to be higher than PS4.

Pretty sure all major publishers are ready to support PS5 and not NSW for their AAA games.

Looks like 13 Sentinels is getting some strong feedback on Amazon and the people who played it are loving it. Glad to see that Vanillaware was able to get it released after it was almost cancelled.

Japan has been C tier for Sony for many years now. Only ~8% of its total hardware sales are in Japan.

I checked Bandai Namco's upcoming multiplatform releases from 2020 and later looking at their mysterious Switch support.

2020/01/17 [PS4/XB1/PC] Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot (CyberConnect2)
2020/02/28 [PS4/XB1/PC] One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows (Spike Chunsoft)
2020/03/12 [NSW/PS4/XB1/PC] My Hero: One's Justice 2 (Byking)
2020/03/27 [NSW/PS4/XB1/PC] One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 (Omega Force)

2020/**/** [PS4/XB1/PC] Tales of Arise (Bandai Namco Studios)
2020/**/** [PS4/XB1/PC] Twin Mirror (Dontnod Entertainment)
2020/**/** [NSW/PS4/XB1/PC] Digimon Survive (WitchCraft)
2020/**/** [NSW/PS4/XB1/PC] Little Nightmares II (Tarsier Studios)

****/**/** [PS4/XB1/PC] Elden Ring (From Software)
****/**/** [PS4/XB1/PC] Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris (Aquria)

The big misses, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, Tales of Arise, Elden Ring come from development teams that have distant relations with Nintendo. Except outsourced projects, internal teams are also absent when it comes to BN published games.
That gives better chances for a Switch version of a potential Dragon Ball FighterZ2 since Arc System Works is big Switch supporter but also indicates things won't change easily in the future if there isn't change at politics.

Xenoverse 3 seems likely for Switch too looking at Dimps' recent output and how well the late port of Xenoverse 2 sold on Switch.

If the price doesn't change nothing will happen to the baseline. Xbox selling for €99 in places. No excuse for the PS4 not be €200 always and €150 next year on promotions.

The only thing I can think of is Sony are selling all they can produce WW so are happy to let Japan suffer.
