Is also has an attractive pricing (~4.2k yens on Amazon) + a good Dragon Quest audience on Switch. But yes, the fact that this is the best "Minecraft-clone" at retail will help it a lot.

I've always felt it would be handicapped by the sequel being announced but maybe I'm wrong. I agree that on paper it should do pretty well.

I hope IS took the time to make FE Switch as good as possible. Feels like it's surpassed the need for bad anime fan service and a good narrative would help it grow considerably

For the HW they always have put some impressive cutscenes in their games (PoR, RD, Awakening...). I cannot wait to see what they can do with a more capable Hardware.

The 3DS game had mad legs, even better than I remembered to be honest.

Fire Emblem Switch is gonna go well over 3m

Lol, the fan service is definitely gonna be present. The series only had it's recent big breakout when they embraced it along with the dating sim/shipping elements

Xenoblade 2 figures poises well for next jRPGs, Fire Emblem included.
Monolith's next game is poised to be their breakout hit, I think.
  • medieval aesthetic
  • action gameplay
  • online modes, possibly co-op and/or competitive
they'd have to really fuck it up for it not to be their best selling game

NIS held their yearly event. Not much announced, though they're bringing Labyrinth of Refrain to Switch, PS4 and steam and bringing it to the west

All depend on the dlc if u ask me. Right now it is doing really well and internet seems to really likey the game too.
The majority of the sales is from the west. We need to see how the leg goes in the west.

BTW nice avatar, Kiseki Himura is a treasure.
I mean the post launch supports for the game has been great both with patches and dlcs, especially for a single player rpg,I think it could do more than 200-300k(which will already be great)

Edit:you have really good taste Aters, cheers

Labyrinth of Refrain: Coven of Dusk is already out for PS4 in Japan. Perhaps we'll see a Switch version later.

The Switch and Steam versions of Labyrinth of Refrain: Coven of Dusk will release in Japan in 2018:

Note: The PS4 and Vita versions are already available in Japan.
Ohh... that was fast LOL.

Well I'm still letting myself sort of dream that SMTV is somehow this year and they're farther along than they seem :P.

The Seven Deadly Sins: Knights of Britannia is the next one that will join bomba bins.

IMO, group participation is one of the best things about horror games and movies. I've watched some awful shit horror movies that I actually ended up enjoying because of the company I was with. Watched Rings with a couple people last weekend. Terrible movie. Would recommend.

RE8, even if it isn't co-op, should be a game that makes people want to play with company, passing the controller around and having a good mix of scares and laughs. I think that's been the real culprit of recent success of horror games. Streamers play games like Outlast and RE7 and it becomes a group activity. People want that in horror.

Of course what people want even more than that is a co-op action game. That's fine too, I guess.

FE was going to sell well regardless, this is true. But the fact that XB2 succeeded to such an extent bodes well for future jRPGs like Tales, Octopatch and whatever other project third parties are going to develop. For example, I expect a game like Ni no Kuni to find a large audience on Switch.

The Seven Deadly Sins: Knights of Britannia is the next one that will join bomba bins.

Namco Bandai choice to rely on PS4 for this kind manga/anime tie-ins has really been unfortunate. This is a sign that PS4 is not the best choice for all kind of third party software. The IP sold 80k on 3DS and exploited the more heterogenous and younger audience of the platform. It's a good thing they went multi for My Hero Academia at least.

Sinobi thinks Bayonetta 2 will be treated as half-new entry from Switch owners since Wii U held it back but high price could be a problem.

So NIS event was just ports and localisation?

Really? Please explain MHW then. Aren't the old fans on handheld and the western market untapped territories? So they care about old RE fans but not old MH fans?

Thats quite the segway, from RE devs comments to MHW.
Evidently many old fans are delighted with MHW and I'm sure many of them own multiple systems.

Tell that to fans of MvC.

That Capcom cares about old RE fans?

I don't think its a breakout hit and I don't think Nintendo sees it as one either. If it gets to a larger milestone then maybe Nintendo will do PR. Always felt PR usually tends to be near launch periods or when its LTD the numbers usually have to be relatively impressive.

What do people expect for MHW week 3? For it to fall off a cliff? 50-100k?

Above YSO seems like a growing trend for MHW.

Large price slashes are generally the first indication something was overshipped aren't they?
Capcom failed to stuff the channels with RE7, retailers had low confidence on it.

Initial shipment was 2,5m, it added 500k 2-3 later and other 500k until the end of March. Price going down so soon didn't come from overshipping.

why do you think nintendo doesn't see it as one?what numbers does Nintendo need for its to be a break out hit?
