Something that never happened before really, the 2 best selling consoles are down from W50 to W51.
Would be so weird if this drop is due to Christmas Eve being cut off.

But if it doesn't count Christmas Eve is it really disappointing? Apparently Christmas Eve might be a big shopping day in Japan.
It's not even that it's disappointing that's the main highlight here: it's literally flabbergasting that Hardware for both PS4 and Switch are down week on week. Like, how's that possible?
Everybody last week was saying switch hardware was gonna be crazy this week and it's down?! Last time I listen to you guys haha.
Maybe, it was a nation holiday (the Emperor's birthday was Sunday the 23rd), so maybe many decided to go out shopping with the family that day.
previous 2 years with similar date tracking as this year still have w51 > w50 (2007 & 2012), so 24th being on w52 isn't possibly the only reason why the drop happened

Actually around 20 years of previous data told that hardware sales in W51 should be sensibly higher than W50, not "us".
Last year did have December 24th in the tracking period for week 51.
I think it was fair to assume it would be the same as it always is (Week 51> Week 50). This is apparently like the first time this has ever happened.
I guess it'd explain it, and would essentially just mean that the usual drop from W51 to W52 will be a lot softer this time around. Still weird to witness.
Pokemon LGPE is kinda getting better when compared to USUM numbers.
That's a little lower than I expected for Dragon Quest Builders 2, but that's a decent score for the Onimusha port, at least on PS4.

It seems the tradition of judging a product's performance based on data weekly points still going strong.
For that to be true W52 should be around 250k or more (assuming a 50k higher baseline/week like it was in W50).
Switch has 88% of the PS4 install base and the exacly selling proportion between the DQB2 Switch and PS4.

Not really. It was expected to drop to around 150k on W52, so if it does around 200k or slightly above it'd show that there has been a migration on sales.
I think for Switch this may be due to Smash releasing on the 7th. IMO that week potentially "took away" some of the sales that would have been week 50 and 51 sales.
Switch did 134k last year, I would expect a much higher number due to Smash and being year 2.
