There is no reason to combine them lol. Sun and Moon vs Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon are different games. A game getting DLC doesn't mean it suddenly has to be the equivalent of 2 games in sales. What is this non sense?
Reminds me a bit of " Switch can only be considered a success if it outsells Wii AND DS numbers combined"
lol

What are the expectations for Pokemon Mystery Dungeon ? Since it's a remake, sales should be lower than a new entry but I wonder in what extent ?

No one would count Monster Hunter: Iceborne as a separate release but Pokémon Sw/Sh expansion, since it's Nintendo related, must be counted as a separate release because suddenly rules don't apply anymore. I am fascinated by the amount of mental gymnastics people come up with as soon as a topic is Nintendo related. Every time the same story.

Iceborne numbers should juml by leaps and bounds with Q4 and Q1 with the PC release. Could end up at 4-5 million by the end of the fiscal year.

I'm having FE Fates flashbacks. I still have no idea how much that game actually sold.

All this talk of expansions though. Re:Mind drops in exactly 2 weeks. I'm expecting KH3 to pop up in the top 30 or at least Dengeki so we can catch glimpse of how it sold over the past year.

One of the silliest reasonings I have ever seen. Kind of funny actually.

No offense but it's plainly ridiculous to claim there is some huge Nintendo. They're just hunks of plastic and metal, I dont believe there is any huge conspiracy against any one console maker or publisher. Feels like rose tinted glasses man.

Wow at Switch having the first 19 spots, almost got a Switch top 20.

Also I'm fully convinced at Sword and Shield getting to 5 million now. This will be the leggiest Pokemon since the DS days.

Sword and Shield have been doing gangbusters everywhere but now it's really going to really enter hyper mode, this was the perfect announcement to maintain the game's momentum

With Game Freak spending all of their efforts with the expansion the rise in price and the price of the expansion should help fill the gap where they would have filled it with a third version, sequel or remake of some type. That's good, the legs for this game will be properly insane.
We might be getting back to 20+ million sales on average. Crazy

I don't think he is talking about any conspiracy, just bias from certain people.

I love the fact that there's enough Ring Fit stock in South Korea for it to do around Pokémon numbers whereas the game is sold out in Europe. Nintendo had to pause TV advertising in France until February due to lack of stock.

I'm glad to see that the PS4 is still strongly dominating the asian markets. Third parties strategies paying off

I'm pretty sure he's meming over how people used to say that companies supported PS over Nintendo because of the Asian market.

I know what he's doing and I remember those old discussions. It's just a little annoying how these threads are filled with sarcastic snark like that which don't really make any sense.

It's been over done now.

Also that snarky comment would had made more sense had the top charts being dominated by third party on regular weeks.

It's the first party which are dominating every week which im pretty sure everyone have acknowledged this fact.

3rd parties aren't supporting the PS4 to target the Asian market.
Aren't they?

I swear we've been told otherwise as of a few weeks ago actually

To see the two strongest asian markets after Japan beeing full of Nintendo first parties titles just exacerbates how out of touch third parties are about this growing (and important) market.

Brain Training has really big digital sales

Yeah, #6 is fairly good, though it was also available for pre-purchase since November 27th, so it basically had a full month of sales. We'll see how things go in January, if it doesn't just drop out of the Top 20 altogether.

A shame we'll never get official data from Nintendo, as it's unlikely to sell 1m by March 31st (especially without NA release, though low sales expectations is why there's no NA release to begin with. At least for now).

Tokyo
I'm predicting a Switch Lite baseline (we'll see that in February) in the 15K ballpark or less for the upcoming year. Still a net gain for Nintendo from a money point of view. Certainly not the expected monster. Hopefully, the flagship model will remain above 50-40K thanks to RIng Fit, that Pokemon remake announced yesteray and the anticipation for the upcoming Animal Crossing.

Aren't they?

I swear we've been told otherwise as of a few weeks ago actually

To see the two strongest asian markets after Japan beeing full of Nintendo first parties titles just exacerbates how out of touch third parties are about this growing (and important) market.
Nintendo dominate on the switch and Sony don't dominate on the ps4 especially in Asia. That leaves a big void for 3rd parties take advantage of on the ps4 but not the switch.

Edit: I thought we were getting week 1 numbers today?

Plenty of third party games have sold well on Switch in Asia.

And as we can see from the Japanese charts Nintendo dominating doesn't mean third parties can't do well. There are 7 third party Switch games ahead of all PS4 games.
