Overall a boring week, but Monster Hunter World sales and Nintendo Switch software legs are still very impressive

Seems like a decent debut, but isn't word of mouth supposedly weak over there? Could a huge drop happen? Who knows :POverall a boring week, but Monster Hunter World sales and Nintendo Switch software legs are still very impressive

So Bayonetta 2 will be the first Wii U port not to outsell its original release?

What a sexy subtitle. Kinda turns me on!

Yeah I agree with this. The reason why Pokken and Mario Kart did so well was because they are good games with a substantial amount of new content. I'm worried for DK and Hyrule Warriors.Personally I think Nintendo over-expected on Bayo. "We'll be able to give the title to more people!" Is all they seemed to think. Rather than "Should we be charging the same price as we did 2 years ago for this?". There wasn't even big enough new features to try and pass off for a full price once again.
While this is just Japan (and apparently the UK). I'm curious where it'll end up in the US. I'm expecting a similar trend for the game there as well. If they're doing W101, I pray they either lower the price or include a lot of new content. That game will fare even worse as just a straight port at full price.

but B2 had a better Debut in UK than WiiU counter part
No, it was 25% down, at least at retail.
Bayonetta Switch most likely outsold Bayo Wii U in UK when you factor in digital, and i have to imagine that it will be a trend repeated in many western countries.
I agree that the price point was completely wrong though.
Yeah, this is Bayo's 4th release (HD Twins, Wii U, PC, and now Switch) and would've been nice to see Bayo 2 do a bit better but I'm not really too down on these numbers despite them being a bit low. This is all build up for Bayo 3.Famitsu numbers :
[WIU] Bayonetta 2 {20/09/2014} : 33.114 / 51.361
Low numbers overall but it might outsell it at the end thanks to digital (cheaper way to get Bayo1&2) and hopefully some legs.
The calm before the storm...Switch hardware continues to drop despite being more and more available. Q1 is a bit rough. What was the 3DS baseline in February 2012?

I don't think they actually can release retail games like that at 40 dollars, the cartridges are too expensive. This situation is kind of awful.Bayonetta Switch most likely outsold Bayo Wii U in UK when you factor in digital, and i have to imagine that it will be a trend repeated in many western countries.

Nah, it will perform much better in the US. The OG game on WiiU was already a bust - just porting it to Switch for the same price wont automatically make it sell like more popular titles.Personally I think Nintendo over-expected on Bayo. No idea what that game is, but why should we expect the PS4 to get a bump from it. No single software other than mhw and dq has moved Ps4 hardware significantly. Don't think this is a game to do itSwitch may pull ahead of PS4 next week if its HW stay stable and PS4 continues to drop, but Hokuto no Ken (March 8th) should push the PS4 on top at least for that week, then Kirby will switch positions once again.
HW numbers will be interesting to see for the next few weeks.

Nintendo really fucked this release up. What the hell were they thinking?Reminder that in Japan you didn't get Bayo 1 with a physical copy of Bayo2. Thus, the cheaper way to get both games is via the eshop. Digital sales will be interesting.
wait for Infinite Climax Edition Triple Pack release when Bayo 3 release in 2020 o3oIf Bayonetta 2 standard edition and Bayonetta 2 Non-Stop Climax Edition were combined, the game would be at #5 at 21.226 copies.
It's an abomination that the Non-Stop Climax Edition sold more than the regular edition. It clearly shows where demand is. Shame on you, Nintendo. Now produce more of those fuckers.
Yeah, but it might leg it out though. I'm curious how it's doing in the US.Still, my case is more that with the move to switch and the speed of console sales.
You'd think the game would be faring far better all-around regardless of region.
Switch will need a miracle to compete against NDS (which is the system Nintendo should be really chasing in Japan, when you consider they only have one system to cater for), alas I don't see anything promising on the horizon.
