If digital for Animal Crossing turns as big as expected, 40-50%, it's heading for 2m opening in Japan.

Those would be some insanely strong numbers. I guess a 200k HW week is quite possible, what with 150k Coral Red Lite and AC special editions, along with dozens of thousands of regular Lite systems and 25 OG Switches.

It's lethality rate is reportedly around 3.5% in China and around 0.7% elsewhere. Regular flu's rate usually moves around 0.5-1%. I guess it depends on your definition of "much higher". That said, these figures are probably biased in opposite directions. I guess several flu cases go unnoticed every year, whereas covid is in such an early state outside China that statistics aren't set in stone yet.

I'm sorry for the late quote, but that's not quite right. You just have to look at Italy and Iran to see that the lethality is not "just" around 0,7%. ~2500 cases in Italy with 79 deaths would make a lethality of 3,16% for example. Iran is on a similar level. France is around 2% right now.

Finding devs of Switch games is a past time of mine. :P

Also I'd be surprised if Puyo Puyo Champions wasn't by O-TWO as they did like every entry for the last decade?

Oh and RE7 Cloud is I think by that cloud company that also did Assassin's Creed Odyssey Cloud as well. Let me find who.

Yeah I was iffy on the Cloud games. They're technically the PC ports running on Ubitus's service. Same with PSO2Cloud actually.

both SE and Orca worked on the game

Huh... That's probably what happens with a lot of these ports. I went to CC2's website and they had Naruto Switch listed as a developed title.

Then Hero of Legend pointed out bullets was behind it.

Looking at the credits for for the Switch version it's a laundry list of developers including CC2, h.a.n.d.s, Alvion, etc...

Yeah I know but CC2 Japan also claims development.

I think it may just be a case of reaching out to other companies for supporting because it's a bigger job porting 3 full-sized games. They even used development support on the original releases after all.

"Taiwan's sales list has some new releases. The best selling game was the Chinese version of Persona 5 Royal. Although it was released 4 months later than in Japan, the demand was still very strong. The second position is for the PS4 version of Katana Kami, launched simultaneously with Japan. Last week's best selling game, Hatsune Miku for Switch, dropped to third place but the performance is still better than Japan's drop. Pokemon Sword / Shield retired to the fourth place. Lastly, Just Dance 2020 has returned to the list after many weeks.

Although the Korean's sales list best selling game is a new release, there are more old works than the previous week. Like Taiwan, the best selling game is the late localized Korean version of Persona 5 Royal. The next four positions are for long-sellers games for Switch, in order: Pokemon Sword / Shield, Zelda Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 DX and Super Mario Party."

Somewhere. I think.
Famitsu have shared a report about 2019 sales. Don't remember sharing that one before, but probably just me forgetting it.

Warning: digital numbers of potentially dubious origin detected. Proceed with caution.

Edit: yeah, they're including DL sales in all their data (including market revenue, etc.), not just top-selling games sales.

I see. What happends if basically everyone miss graduation? Isnt that kinda needed to proceed to the next year/semester?

Well for elementary at least the 6th grade students will just go to their first year of Jr. High without having a graduation ceremony (or a graduation ceremony only with fellow students, no parents or community). It's sad.

I know it's been said before, but the Taiwan and Korean sales commentary is so bizarrely pointless. It's always a whole lot of words that just boils to, "Just read the fucking chart."

Wait was DQXI not done Square Enix themselves?

Orca was the primary developer on the HD version, while Toy-Logic was the primary developer on the 3DS version.

Almost every single DQ game (spin-off or otherwise) is developed by an outside studio (only exception I can think of is DQ10; which is developed by S-E's MMO team). Has been the case ever since DQ1 on the Famicom (Chunsoft developed DQ1-5).

Famitsu's readership is so heavily weighted to one demographic that it's completely pointless of them to even try and extract any useful data out of their opt-in surveys, but the least they could is update their asstimates with official data once it's available.

The biggest discrepancies are Fire Emblem, Astral Chain, and Link's Awakening, all of them very undertracked (I guess Pokemon too). Using Nintendo's shipments FE is definitively over 200k (probably around ~230k). Astral Chain should be between 90-100k. Link's Awakening is over 100k for sure (around 130k probably).

Smash seems overtracked if it's below FE. DQXI might be slightly overtracked too, but not too much.

As a comparison, Yakuza 6 topped 500k in one week.

Orca and Toy-Logic both worked on DQX actually, it had a huge team. It did signal the shift to lead internal dev though, which DQXI continued even with Orca, Toy-Logic and Arte Piazza focusing on the different builds.
