Quake 2 ambience is so good. It's one of the reasons I play the game without the soundtrack which otherwise drowns it out.

Is this a mashup of things? I don't remember the game sounding like this lol.

Yeah, the uploader has overused the bombing sound effects a bit too much but otherwise this is what you'd hear when exploring the first level. It's not the best showcase but it's literally the only one I could find on YT.

"Mutton, fresh mutton!" from the markets in Tales of Xillia is incredibly memorable for all the wrong reasons.

That game has legendary sound effects.



My vote goes to Half-Life and the original Unreal.

The wind howling and sound of the creek is perfection.

Can I give an anti-vote to Minecraft? A game that I adore to death but find myself constantly adjusting slider volume for and getting annoyed at the constant use or absence of sound.
