I actually think that movie is coming eventually. Have Tommy Lee Jones come back to film a cameo as K on his death bed, too, to give J a push to find a replacement and leave this life. Heck, they sort of telegraphed it in the third film.

All the best parts of Men in Black 1 are related to acting and dialogue, not action.
Looks fun to me, so I'll go see it.
And it Entertainment Weekly saying all the MIB movies are bad? 1 is great and 3 is pretty good. 2 is the only dud, in my opinion so if this is better than MIB2 then that sounds fine with me.
The commercials trying to reference Thor are cringey as hell though.

I wasn't askning a question per se. I was making a point.
It's a poporn movie. Not high art. The only actual critique you can make about the popcorn movie is "is it fun?" "Was i entertained?" Did i laugh, giggle or chuckle? If yes overall, then the movie is good.
Overall, i got lots of kicks out of Venom. I chuckled. I was awed. There were some thought provoking bits. All in all, i had a good time. Therefore, the movie isn't bad, given the genre, it was good.
Hence, my opening post.

That line sticks out so sorely. And hell, I'll say 3 is the absolute best. It might not be as fresh as the first was for its time nor does it have an Edgar-level performance, but as a cohesive movie with a lot of moving parts I adored 3.
putting aside how you're defining "high art" and whether popcorn movies should have the bar lowered for them because they're popcorn movies, don't you think the people who are negative about this movie actually don't think it's fun? I have not read every single review of MIB International, but of the handful I have looked at, none of the critics have said "You know I had fun with it, I got some laughs and enjoyed myself, but it's technically a bad movie, therefore I give it a rotten."
On your point about Venom -- a lot of people who saw that movie and gave it a negative review probably also thought that movie wasn't fun either. Obviously you can have fun with a bad movie, but watching a bad movie can also be a decidedly not-fun experience for a lot of people too. So if you're asking, "Is this movie fun, yes or no?" I think it's safe to say that if a majority of reviews are negative, then the answer is probably no! Doesn't mean you won't think differently...but in that case, don't ever bother with reviews.

MIB3 did some good numbers, this might benefit from the long break. Unless Will Smith was the sole reason people came to watch it which I find it hard to believe

'Inoffensive' and 'breezy' are the best compliments I'm hearing about the movie.

I feel like this was so ridiculous that even if it was this bad it would still have been worth seeing. Whereas this has no reason to take the punt.
Honestly they could have done another 1960's era MIB without Tommy Lee Jones or Will Smith and it would have been far more interesting imo.

He and Fassbender are both great actors who unfortunately seem to be box office poison
I think he was decent in GB3. the fault there lies with Paul Feig.
But yeah outside of Thor, Liam is a bit box office cancery.
He needs to do some weird GAME NIGHT low budget type comedy that hit home and anchor his stardom.
That said he's probably plenty rich so it don't matter til GOTG3. $$$$

Those NBA finals ads were very ill-advised. They're like Space Jam level of clever.
The trailer didn't have one single funny moment, reminded me of the Ghostbusters 2016 trailer. And as recently with the far from home trailer. Sony have a bad track record of late!
NBA Finals marketing seems to be a kiss of death, I remember Ghostbusters 2016 an NBA Finals tie-in too.
According to Sonnefeld, he, Smith, and Jones want nothing to do with these movies.
I feel like Sony is gonna cross this and Charlie's Angels off the listof franchises they're trying to bring back lol
Just got out of a screening. It's not an offensively bad movie. The leads do a great job of carrying the film and keeping things enjoyable.
