Resolution ups to 1440p or similar with this patch. No HDR.

That YT video might as well just show the same footage twice lol.
Considering it looked almost flawless already, I was really hoping this patch would increase draw distance and improve effects instead. Mah.
Apparently no downsampling for 1080p sets?
Sony should have made it mandatory, one of my regrets of getting a Pro.

hRes = 2560;
vRes = 1440;

Cerny was right, Pro patches have little to no impact on development time!
FWIW even the PC is, aside few extras like night lights on motherbase, a carbon copy of console versions, so it's not like there was tons of room to improve on the Pro version.
Come on guys they aren't required to have a patch for pro but here we are. The question is, what's the catch though? An subtle ad of MGS survival?
Yeah you're right plus they might add more micro transaction thing while they're at it.Not even an ad, Survive will most definitely have the same Pro improvements, this is just them retrofitting the same updates to the existing engine for TPP and try to curry some positive PR, which Konami desperately needs.
1440p isnt that noticeable. I turned it on this morning and it looked slightly cleaner but thats about it. Didnt look sharp or detailed. very disappointing.
These lights arent extra. It's a dramatically further drawing distance. There was a shiton to improve on that matter.
This is also my stance, lots of wasted potential but better than nothing. Strange how the game is both free on PS+ and Microsofts games on demand service. Its like konami really got done quick trying to sell the game.
Metal Gear Solid 5 The Phantom Pain on PS4 Pro renders at a resolution of 2560x1440 when outputting at 2160p and a native resolution of 1920x1080 when outputting at 1080p (no downsampling).
I find ~2.2mio vs. ~3.7mio Pixels quite noticeable..1440p isnt that noticeable. I turned it on this morning and it looked slightly cleaner but thats about it. Didnt look sharp or detailed. very disappointing.
LOL..me too...How do u guys verify if it's 1440p on PS4 pro?
Sadly I'm one of those people who owns a 4k set/ps pro yet can't tell the difference between 4k and 1080p most of the time....let alone 1440p

Nope. Superdumb. This game could really use some downsampling.so are there any visual benefits to playing this on a 1080p Pro?
