That is abysmal, considering that she is one of the most well-known adult film actors. It just goes to show how exploitative the pornographic industry can be and how sex workers can often be undervalued for their work.

Didn't she only do like three scenes or something over a very short period? By the time she was well known she was already retired. Not that I'm saying she wasn't exploited.

Wasn't she in the industry for less then 6 months? I mean, it's pretty good pay for the time she worked. It's not fair she doesn't get compensation from dvd, streaming sales but at the same time, I guess it's industry wide problem for newbies. Time to form an union.

Feels like they would have to pool together to try and change the payment structure and get some royaltues going on, working for one of those big studies doesn't seem viable if it's something you're only going to do for a while as it stands. It's been like this for a while that they've paid per movie.

This was trending on twitter a few days ago. She was only in the biz for like a month or two so that number makes sense.

She worked in porn for three months, getting $12.000 out of that sounds pretty good especially because she wasn't famous at all then.

Did she popularize the Arab fetish category? Seems to be a thing now. I can't help but think people are hate fapping in trump's America.

But she only worked for 3 months...

I wouldn't expect Porn contracts to be that good.

That's crazy considering how famous she is. I mean it's not terribly surprising that the porn industry is incredibly exploitative, but still. There are models on Patreon who make that much a month.

Yeah I'm not gonna stand in the way of porn reform but people interpreting this like she was robbed or underpaid for who/where she was when she did porn.

That'd be crazy if true. I made more extra money in scholarships and random stuff forjust going to school for 1 more month than she did porn. I thought porn would pay a decent amount

It came afterwards to my knowledge, but still, considering how hard it is to escape the reputation you'd think there'd be something like residuals to help.

I wonder if it is like the film industry and only really famous 'actors' or producers are the only ones who get residuals.

It sucks that she doesn't get royalties but come on, 12k$ for 2 months of work and it's not like she would work 9-5 5 days a week.

Not worth it considering all the death threats she received and being disowned by her family

"Renegade'd her"??? Wtf? I'm afraid to ask wth this means.

It is a rap term stemming from the song Renegade by Jay Z featuring Eminem whereby Eminem outrapped Jay on the track. This is then mentioned in the diss song 'Ether' by Nas and well...became part of the lexicon on the internet.

Essentially its shorthand for a guest being better than the main attraction.

She came in, had a ton of amateur-style scenes, a few scenes with a single well-known male performer (JMac, before she became famous), and expected the payoff to be super high?

It's porn. You gotta put the work in before you start making Nicolette Shea/Alexis Fawx/Madison Ivy money.

I also find it quite humorous that she goes on a radio talk show, flips out when they mention she was a porn star and ends the interview, as if she was famous or well-known for anything else, yet does these interviews dressed the way she is.

She can't really decide which side of the fence she wants to be on, and she comes across as a bit unhinged.

And as someone mentioned earlier, she wasn't exactly that good or exciting. She could deepthroat, but looked uninterested, and one of the only scenes she's really good in is that one with JMac, and that's because he's a workhorse who carries lesser performers to a watchable match...err....scene.

I told you, porn is like Pro Wrestling.

What is the measurement of her success?
Like how much do actresses normally get paid?
How many total scenes did she do in those few months?
What would be a normal amount for someone new to the business?

I'm definitely not going say the business ain't exploitative however
Like she was most well known for that time period just because of her niche, which was her race. She definitely ain't put in work like other famous actressess

If she would go back and do more scenes I guess that she would get a shitload of money.

I can't imagine she would ever go back, but I agree. She would probably become the highest paid adult film actress of all time since literally everyone knows who she is...whether they would admit it or not.

I've always thought that porn doesn't pay well. There's a friend of mine that has slept with 2 fairly well known British porn stars because they also prostitute to earn money.

She did 12 scenes over a 3 month period, and her popularity started to skyrocket in the latter part of that.

$1000 per video for a newcomer doesn't seem too bad, but zero royalties is fucking terrible. I know it's fairly common, but it's still shit.
