Michael B Jordan to voice lead character in Rooster Teeth mech show "gen:LOCK"

And here I thought them getting Vic Mignona for RWBY was a big get.
Apparently they contacted MBJ about this before he was Killmonger.
Hopefully the writing is good. I feel it's unfortunate that RWBY is their flagship franchise and it suffers from weak writting, while other stuff they have like Camp Camp is stellar (but I assume thats because they are more experienced in comedy than drama)
They've likened Gen Lock to the Freelancer stuff from RVB and Gen Urobuchi as a major influence.
Some of the mech designs look cool though

Honestly the Freelancer Saga is the best written story that RT has ever produced so i am excited
Their on VRV premium. Which does have a PS4 ap.
Anyway this is really cool. I love just about all of RT's animated stuff(Nomad of Nowhere has been surprisingly interesting) so I'm excited for this.

Wouldn't be suprised if the series mostly took from Gundam Wing which a lot of 90s mecha fans crew up with
They have Toy Lines, Figurines, DVDs, T-shirts for it in just America alone, cross broadcasting and translation agreements with studios in Japan, a Manga Series, Chibi Series ect. I'd say it's pretty lucrative for them.
Wait, Koichi Yamadera as in Beerus from the Japanese version?
Is he voicing Kazu Iida in just the Japanese version of this show or in the English dub?
I only know the actor from some of his roles so I have zero idea if his English is any good, or he will even speaking English lol.

She was in Ocean's 8 just last month.
The cast for this is seriously impressive, they really seem to be pushing this as their next landmark property. Hopefully it lives up to it.
His character is from Japan.
I believe he will be speaking in Japanese for the english dub with occasional English.
Imo, I think Kim Newman is the best they have.
Was able to bring back the gunchucks, did the best bit in Qrow vs Tyrian and did the sick Yang dodges and palm catch in the V5 short.

I wonder about Genlock in a sense that they are pulling their best talent to it. The issue is how is this going to negatively affectly RWBY because right now i am seeing:
The issue is they - they can hire as many voice actors as they want. Their animation and writing need to be a step up from RWBY

No - Kim and Torrian are going to be the primary animators in terms of the fight animation
I think they meant the Death Battle animation, in which case - yeah, that's all Torrian.
Actually he has a sub animator as well as Kristina who also works on 3D Animation so i don't think DB 3D Animation will be completely gone
They just announced Maisie Williams (Arya from Game of Thrones) is going to be a character in this show
RIP their other shows then.
I was kinda hoping that they'd put more time and money into making RWBY better but it doesn't seem they care enough. After the disaster that was the last Volume finale, and all this, I have no high hopes that they'll even try to turn it around.
